Wed. 7/1/09 1:00pm From: dc pat

anybody see when Henry Rollins was guest VJ on MTV about a million years ago? It was hilarious--he made fun of every band he had to play...Depeche Mode jogged that memory...

Wed. 7/1/09 1:02pm From: trent

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Wed. 7/1/09 1:02pm From: Cecile

my favorite line from the Venture Brothers is when they're talking about Dave Gahan for some reason:
"He has to be gay! He's in Depeche Mode!"

Wed. 7/1/09 1:09pm From: north guinea hills

i do remember that episode, Cecile, hilarious!

Wed. 7/1/09 1:12pm From: Cecile

that show is such a fanboy/80s pop nerd lovefest
My husband laughs at the SF jokes, I laugh at the music jokes.

Wed. 7/1/09 1:16pm From: Cecile

YES HEATWAVE

Wed. 7/1/09 1:18pm From: Cecile

King Crimson - "Night Watch"

Wed. 7/1/09 1:44pm From: Jeffersonic

Years ago, the midnight nude swimming spot I was acquainted with was Lake Griffey, Bloomington, IN. Now it's Coquina Beach in FL (under police threat).

Wed. 7/1/09 1:51pm From: Rob W

There was "the quarry" for illicit swimming in Ann Arbor MI although I don't think I went at midnight. Would've been the right place for it though. Cecile - ?

Wed. 7/1/09 1:56pm From: Katie

Midnight swimming at the Palm Springs Motel 6 on tour with Run On in 1997. The stars were so bright it was as if they were three-dimensional. The mountains loomed above... the pool was surrounded by boulders... and it was hot as hell so it was great to feel the cool water on your skin when the air was so hot and dry!

Wed. 7/1/09 1:59pm From: Adam E.

Incredible version of "Sister Midnight." Do you know where and when it took place?

There's nothing like the Iggy of old--Nothing . . . menace, humor, a serpantine struggle of life-and-death. Who can compare? Why listen to anything that DOESN'T deliver like that? Why?

Wed. 7/1/09 2:01pm From: Jeffersonic

Warren Zevon- "Nighttime In the Switching Yard".

Wed. 7/1/09 2:01pm From: Cecile

Rob, never got out there, thought Lord knows I had the opportunity.
I'm more of a day swimmer myself.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:02pm From: Cecile

Katie, I am still so sad I missed you guys on that tour.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:03pm From: Cecile

but, yes, the quarry was the skinny dippin' sneaky swimming hole

Wed. 7/1/09 2:04pm From: a guy in a chair in a cube

IF that version of Sister Midnight was from the album I was just looking at on Amazon it was recorded in Clevland OH and it was the tour with Bowie on piano.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:07pm From: Jeffersonic

John Fahey- "Night Train to Valhalla".

Wed. 7/1/09 2:07pm From: maria

yes, cube guy, that's right, thanks

Wed. 7/1/09 2:10pm From: Cecile

Midnight Confessions by the Grass Roots

Wed. 7/1/09 2:16pm From: Gary

Ween - "It's Gonna Be a Long Night", from Quebec

Wed. 7/1/09 2:16pm From: uuee

Katie is right, Palm Springs, in the wee hours, at my sister's home, in the backyard pool, after a loonngg day at D'Land, with 6 youngsters. The pool was at the foothills of the Jacinto Mts. coyotes yipping, full clear sky, a glass of wine, & a little something, of which, we imbibed the smoke......Aaaahhhhh!

Wed. 7/1/09 2:20pm From: Cecile

maybe I'll try an evening swim in the UP when I'm up there in a week or so. The water tends to warm up, relatively, at night.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:27pm From: Maria

Hey all you creative types listening out there. Think about putting together a 2-3 minute film noir sound collage. Can include music, sound effects, spoken word. Think dark, nighttime, not necessarily spooky... You have til the end of August to get it together. Put it on a cd. Send it to me here at the station. I be reminding you every week for a while.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:30pm From: Cecile

That sounds fun. I'll think of something.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:35pm From: dc pat

I'm on it..

Wed. 7/1/09 2:37pm From: Rick

Hey. Rick Beatty here. Can I put something together as a mp3 and send it?

Wed. 7/1/09 2:40pm From: maria

Hey Rick- ok, but I prefer a hard copy. I'll let you know where to send it

Wed. 7/1/09 2:45pm From: dc pat

hey, good version of the Specials tune. Nice!

Wed. 7/1/09 2:48pm From: ?

Hard copy it is. Good show today.

Wed. 7/1/09 2:49pm From: Rick

That last comment was from me.

Wed. 7/1/09 3:01pm From: Trick

No, it was most certainly NOT.

Wed. 7/1/09 3:03pm From: Kate
