Woke up this morning with the Lee Morgan track in my head already.
....would that be a pre-existing condition?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:04pm From: BSI

oh effing crap, and he goes right into one of my favorite roy harper tunes. ... very good day...

Wed. 9/9/09 3:05pm From: Ike

Hey Pearly, re: the earlier ginger beer taste test talk, try Maine Root brand It's even better than Reeds. Avoid the Ginger People brand, it's weak, like regular ginger ale.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:07pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

Time for tea.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:11pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

I am not a number, I am a free man.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:12pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

What do you want?

Information.

You won't get it.

By hook or by crook, we will.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:13pm From: annie

ike, that is one i forgot about!! that is one of the top brews, too!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:14pm From: Pearly Sweets

I'll keep an eyeball out for it. The place around the corner didn't have a lot to choose from. The Reed's is good, their regular beer has a nice mild bite (but still a bite, not like ale) but you can also get their stronger one if you want a real kick.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:15pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

“Are you going to run?”

“Like blazes. First chance I get.”

“I meant -- run for office?”

Wed. 9/9/09 3:16pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

“I'm gonna escape and come back.”

“Escape and come back . . . ?”

“Ah, yes--escape, come back, wipe this place off the face of the earth, obliterate it . . . and you with it.”

Wed. 9/9/09 3:18pm From: Pearly Sweets

Looking at their site right now. That blueberry soda looks amazing.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:18pm From: Eric

Upset I missed the sidewinder himself, Lee Morgan

Wed. 9/9/09 3:18pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

He has revolted. Resisted. Fought. Held fast. Maintained. Destroyed resistance. Overcome coercion. The right to be a person, someone or individual. We applaud his private war, and concede that despite materialistic efforts, he has survived intact and secure!”

Wed. 9/9/09 3:18pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

Alright, Dum Dum Guy, I'll bite: it sounds familiar--which movie are you watching?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:18pm From: Pearly Sweets

Might have to make that drive to the whole foods later.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:19pm From: Ike

Thanks Annie. Yeah, Pearly, Maine Root is harder to find than Reeds. I first discovered it in NH.

DDG: "Questions are a burden to others; answers are a prison for oneself."

Wed. 9/9/09 3:19pm From: annie

deeelish, do call ahead. not many places carry it.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:19pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or Numbered. My life is my own. I resign!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:20pm From: Ike

That's one of the few things I'd go to Whole Paycheck for.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:20pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

Unlike me, many of you have accepted the situation of your imprisonment, and will die here like rotten cabbages.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:20pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

Network?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:22pm From: The Prisoner

Wed. 9/9/09 3:22pm From: Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn

We understand he survived the ultimate test. Then he must no longer be referred to as "Number Six" or a number of any kind. He has gloriously vindicated the right of the individual to be individual. And this Assembly rises to you...

Wed. 9/9/09 3:22pm From: Pearly Sweets

Yeah, if the whole foods was closer I might be tempted to go there more often, but because I can get MOST of the stuff I'd buy there at the store around the corner for cheaper (still all organic too) I usually don't bother. But since today is soda enjoyment day, exceptions can and shall be made!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:22pm From: annie

funny, we had it in our store and it sold really well, couldn't keep it around, over in cooperstown, the stuff sat on the shelf.. i also had a chemistry student who also made soda for me...

Wed. 9/9/09 3:23pm From: Jackie ny-ca

Did you already discuss D&G ginger beer? "Genuine Jamaican." Spicy and good. Not too sweet. Not sure where you can get it. I got it in NY and Phoenix, I haven't tried looking for it since I've been in California.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:24pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

with all this talk of movies and soda pop, no one has said the word that makes Irwin's fans go wild...

Wed. 9/9/09 3:26pm From: BSI

mongoose!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:26pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

in fact, no one properly greeted our most gracious host...HI Irwin!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:27pm From: Ike

My local Stop & Shop carries two-liter bottles of D&G in the ethnic aisle, or did. Not sure if they still do. It's not bad. I think it has corn syrup though.

I've tried making my own ginger beer too, but it doesn't usually come out exactly right.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:27pm From: annie

Wed. 9/9/09 3:30pm From: BSI

so, uh, no mongoose then?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:30pm From: PMD

Here's a public comment.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:30pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

and no, uh, mongoose, BSI!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:32pm From: Ike

DCE, The Prisoner is a classic cult TV show, not a movie, from 1967-68 starring Patrick McGoohan. That Roy Harper song title seems to have set off DDG.

I love Mates of State.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:33pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

I see.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:33pm From: Irwin

Ike, I am here to serve at your pleasure.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:34pm From: PMD

Can you play Freebird?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:41pm From: BSI

Pomplamoose soonds dangerously cloose to mongoose.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:41pm From: Ike

Me-OW! Yowza yowza!

Wed. 9/9/09 3:50pm From: Dong

play national song korea?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:51pm From: Carmichael

Hi Irwin! Missed Fountains of Wayne, but that's OK. I'm sure the rest of the show will be ultra-dynamic.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:52pm From: the day

Remember the Contac ad with chorus girls in mini-length raincoats singing Button Up Your Overcoat?

Wed. 9/9/09 3:53pm From: Irwin

Dong in the house! Andy's house, anyway.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:56pm From: Parq

I missed FOW too, but I have been to the Valley of Malls. The Mission Valley section of San Diego is almost exactly what that song describes. The only missing element is a toll hiway.

Wed. 9/9/09 3:57pm From: annie

he is cause andy's gone out! hope you clean that mess up on the floor, dong

Wed. 9/9/09 3:58pm From: Dong

Andy no here. me boogie

Wed. 9/9/09 4:02pm From: barteby

c'mon your'e joking every library would have to be resequenced

Wed. 9/9/09 4:04pm From: Spankyflop

I'm waiting for alphabetical order to be changed to match the qwerty keyboard.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:09pm From: bartelby

maybe a subscription alphabet service so that if you used the alphabet or whatever resequenced ascii you would pay a monthly fee to the greeks and pheoncians. Unless the St. Cyril foundation could buy up the licensing

Wed. 9/9/09 4:12pm From: Lizardner Dave

Irwin, I think someone should update Andy's Facebook status right now while you're on the air so the damn FB suits know it's not you, as has been rumored. Or admitted on SSD, whatever.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:16pm From: Irwin

Poke Andy. He'll do it himself.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:18pm From: Lizardner Dave

"Andy has not received your last poke yet. He will receive it when he logs in." Oh, you BET he will. Wait, what am I saying?

Wed. 9/9/09 4:21pm From: charlie

I was wondering where to find more information on this proposed re-sequencing of the alphabet. How did you hear about this? If you could send or post the link it would be greatly appreciated.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:21pm From: Parq

Man, does "Snowflakes Are Dancing" take me back. I vividly remember when that album first came out.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:25pm From: doug from DC

Parq: so do I. I bought a CD copy a couple of years ago out of nostalgia, brought on when I heard Jack Horkheimer use it for the theme music for "Star Hustler."

Wed. 9/9/09 4:27pm From: annie

dave, i poked him... it'll take him another three weeks to notice..

Wed. 9/9/09 4:28pm From: PMD

A day without Amanda is like a day without sunshine.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:28pm From: doug from DC

Has anyone suggested an Amanda remix project yet? This would be a lot of fun to sample.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:29pm From: Irwin

Check Andy's FB page. I think he got the msg.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:29pm From: still b/p

It's a toss-up whether our little friend there or Mike Myers is the most keister-focused individual under the yellow sun.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:30pm From: PMD

A day without Shania is like a day without a divorce.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:31pm From: annie

he mentioned his short wife.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:31pm From: Dead Corporate Eyes

Down!

Wed. 9/9/09 4:33pm From: Parq

Still, that's brilliant! "Starring Mike Meyers and Introducing Amanda!"

Once again, I dissent from the anti-country remarks. Send a little Shania my way.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:34pm From: PMD

I was not at all anti-country. I think.
I like how Irwin squeaks.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:35pm From: Ike

That wasn't completely awful, but would've been a lot better with a more Dolly- or Tammy-style production sound.

Wed. 9/9/09 4:37pm From: Gigantor

Woo-hoo! Duke of Iron! How I've missed you, Muriel!

Wed. 9/9/09 5:04pm From: Kevin in BayRidge

Hoo-woo! ( Dyslexia rules!)

Just got through on the Flash stream. First time I've gotten live FMU at work in months. So it goes working for the big brotherish & bandwidth deprived man. But at least there is a job still here.
Irwin I'm glad the internet Red Sea parted for you. Like Lennie Bruce said- "Dead ringer for Moses!

Wed. 9/9/09 5:06pm From: Carmichael

Wed. 9/9/09 5:07pm From: Irwin

OK, clam down, boys.

Wed. 9/9/09 5:08pm From: PMD

Irwin, no offense, but I'm nodding off. Something faster?

Wed. 9/9/09 5:12pm From: Parq

Ohh, *Pilgis* Enlarged! Man, I gotta get my eyeglass prescrip checked.
