  Fri. 4/30/10 9:17am still b/p:

Dorothy! You meant this show could end up really plucking!
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:18am Drummer Some:

Very best to you Joel and all y'all.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:19am annie:

fritz, will you witness this event?
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:22am Fritz:

Yes I will, with 80,000 other people outside with a 40% chance of thunderstorms.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:23am Chicago Joel:

it just takes a couple of notes to know its a south african folk tune. lovely
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:25am annie:

fritz: sounds momentous!!
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:31am dc pat:

Son is just about #1 on my list. Thanks.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:32am dc pat:

I think you can hear a train whistle in the background there...
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:34am BSI:

agreed. Son House is tops in every universe.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:36am dc pat:

in my head, Son and Howlin Wolf have been duking it out for years for the #1 spot--and I'm not talking about my blues list, I'm talking about my all music list.

  Fri. 4/30/10 9:43am Drummer Some:

Patience, Lenny, patience.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:43am Lore:

This Bill Williams record is terrific. "Pocahontas" is off the chain.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:45am Drummer Some:

You're right, Lore, but you can't trade in Pocahontas for a spleen operation.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:49am dc pat:

BSI: that's great. I don't meet a lot of people that share my exuberance for Mr. House. Guess it's a different story on FMU comments..
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:51am Cecile:

YES. I wish they would have done that for Ornette when I graduated. It still would have been appropriate.

I didn't go to my ceremony. the year before when my sis graduated, serial philanderer and Michigan governor Jim Blanchard gave the commencement speech. He spent half the time yelling at the students who were booing him.
  Fri. 4/30/10 9:58am brian:

  Fri. 4/30/10 11:10am Drummer Some:

You are correct on all counts.

Fear not. Interesting new vistas shall reveal themselves.
  Fri. 4/30/10 11:21am Paul Sherratt:

" Fear not " ... absolutely. Otherwise the note would have started thus " Dear John ... "

  Fri. 4/30/10 11:32am Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  Fri. 4/30/10 11:40am Robert:

The poem with music at around 10 AM had an uncharacteristically happy ending. Usually when they start out about "that fateful day", you expect a somewhat similar story about a chain of events (with very loose causal cx), but ending in a murder-suicide or something! This one by contrast just could've been a very circuitous PSA for syphilis screening & rx.
  Fri. 4/30/10 11:41am ?:

  Fri. 4/30/10 11:41am Parq:

I'm not having a bad enough day, you had to bring back the Nixon years?
  Fri. 4/30/10 11:47am Robert:

Sure it was WONDERFUL, if that's what you meant. Almost like a Bob & Ray act in terms of setting up false expectations. It's not the dates with the boss that lead to tragedy, then it's not Uncle Leo who leads to tragedy, then it turns out NONE of it leads to tragedy, just a brief spat that everybody gets over.
