"Mouse of Today" donations are a dollar a day. That dollar is used to purchase the chunks of cheese that are so vital in powering the station [mouse sees cheese and runs after it; the wheel the mouse is running in is connected to a generator]. It takes an army of 453 mice running in shifts to generate enough power to keep WFMU on the air.

Avatar 9:54am
BadGuyZero:

The one good thing that happened as a result of Superstorm Sandy was that when WFMU became an island only the fittest mice were able to stay afloat and ultimately seek shelter on the few square feet of sidewalk not under water. Ken captured these mice and is currently conducting genetic splicing/manipulation experiments with the goal of creating a breed of super mice.
