I've been monitoring RTD all day, keeping him hydrated, fed, replacing his corneas when they get burnt out from clicky-star blow-back, reminding him to relax his peplum lest it wreck him...

This is one of the good bits.

I had some chocolate puddin' during Kamikaze, I didn't want to brag then, but I do now.

Deep Music's track title is rather appropriate.

The siren song of the vegan soul-food truck took me away from the Kamikaze for a bit, but I'll surely be hugging the archives asap.....

erm...gotta turn this one down, hairy eyeballs starting to float around the office...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm

I want puddin'. I want vegan soul food.
But I can't complain. I had my wife's rice n beans smothered in hot sauce for lunch. She makes 'em the best.

veg [tvp] broiled fish sandwich & mountain of garlic kale. The brick-&-mortar place is about a block from home, the truck is new. Sinful convenience. Magical grub. The garlic kale could fell an army.

they make tvp "fish"?? that's kinda strange...

...and then there's Soul Vegetarian Kitchen a few blocks south, and that place has been around for ages. So it's not as quirky an idea as one might think.

Avatar 4:43pm
Cheri Pi:

Ngh! We're getting ghost peppers and Scorpions at work, my coworker grows them! Have you ever cooked with them in the whole?
Avatar 4:46pm
Cecile:

NO. I can barely handle Scotch bonnets or habs. I use maybe 1/2 pepper for a whole huge dish.
Avatar 4:46pm
northguineahills:

Yes, I have, Cheri Pi. Use sparingly according to your taste. It adds great flavor, but too much, you'll be seeing space coyotes.
Avatar 4:47pm

Jimbo O'Rourke produced this Faustian delight.

sorry, you were talking to ngh, who has an iron stomach. carry on.
Avatar 4:47pm

hahahahahaha, ngh. You'll see space coyotes that sound like Johnny Cash.
Avatar 4:47pm
northguineahills:

None of my scotch bonnets came through this year. I still have my jalapeno bush from last year that is spicier then most habs.
Avatar 4:49pm
Cheri Pi:

Not at all Cecile!! This morning I went to the spice shop after my dental appt (I have a cavity dagnabbit!) and bought powdered ghost pepper too. I'm moving on up.
Avatar 4:50pm
Cheri Pi:

Space Coyotes, now there's a concept worth exploring...
Avatar 4:52pm

You know, what would go nice with those scotch bonnets is a good saison. Oh heck, I'll just skip the peppers and go right to the beer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm

Luck hoser, rev, I got Rien on vinyl w/in a week it came out, no 10 inch for me. But it did come w/ a Faust poster, that a mad ex-gf tore up years ago.
Avatar 🎸 5:07pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

no poster in mine, but a handsome gatefold sleeve (10" with small jacket stuffed in the other half of the gatefold) ... a groovy one.
Avatar 5:11pm

@REV - any chance you know the name of the tracks on the 10"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm

@NGH: you're in a tough spot now. Which shall give: the beer or the sauce? There might be a TV franchise in there. It seems there have been shows with less existentially compelling premises
Avatar 🎸 5:13pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

oh fracking hell, I remembered it wrong. The LP isn't Rien, it's Ravvivando. With the 10". The groovy track in question is www.youtube.com...

Saw "Thief" last week with James (Jimmy!) Caan and Tuesday Weld, written and directed by Michael Mann--I was impressed by him. This is sooo 70's, with a great respect for detail. Awesome visuals--70s cities peeps. The music is by Tangerine Dream!!!!
