Definition of veteran (n)
Bing Dictionary
vet·er·an [ véttərən ]
somebody formerly in armed forces: a former member of the armed forces
experienced soldier: a long-serving member of the military who has had much active service
somebody with experience: somebody who is considerably experienced in something

...nothing about actually still being Alive there...Who is remembered on Veteran's Day?...

...there's Irish 'craic' - I may well like that stuff

1.) Nancy Reagan could stroll thru a Crack House in a bullet-proof vest & a small Army of Secret Service w/ that self-righteous 'compassionate conservative' face-lift smile that Republican ladies have...No better Control of the lower-classes could be imagined...

2.) - they could have something that actually does to you w/ one puff what they showed marijuana doing in the 'Reefer Madness' film [ - from the era when J. Edgar Hoover (because he needed things/people to Demonize so he looked like a legit. G-man & not a closet cross-dressing fraud) & Hearst (because hemp potentially cut into his tree-paper profits)]

Fred--Good question: "what about a soldier who comes back from a war and dies in another?"

A further complication:
What if the soldier was the subject of the two songs I've just been playing ("Jesus"). And Soldier-Jesus served in one war, came back, died, and then was resurrected.

what then?

Avatar 7:47am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...if you die the 1sy day - I would say you've Served alright...altho' this would perhaps not be 'Veteran' in the sense of 'experienced guy who knows the ropes'. Words have more than one meaning commonly. This might be relevant, somehow...

Avatar 7:53am

...Hendrix knew this guy:

Was Ali known about back then?

That discography of Rocky Dzidzornu, also known as Rocky Dijon reads like a list of my all time fave songs and rock bands.
  7:59am

Ali would have been 30 years old in 1969, probably a little bit of cross-pollination of influence at best.
Avatar 8:07am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Looking @ A.F.Toure's wiki :
...vague, but doesn't appear he was that widely until known later.
- Hendrix had 'ears', though - wanted to be as Experienced as possible, & got around (NYC, what have you - where it is suggested he heard Caribbean drums, &tc.). He was known, for example, for having remarkably thorough knowledge of pretty obscure Blues &/or Guitar recordings - as might be expected of one @ the top of that field - yet in the 1960s a minute or two before Internet, & died @ only 27...
Avatar 8:09am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...not that widely *known* (yeesh - typing int he morning...)
- FMU here won't make a hotLink to that wiki - possibly because of accent on last 'E' in Toure...

- I suppose if AFT *did* have enuff notoriety already - Hendrix's interest in the famous 'African Blues Guitarist' would've been a no-brainer. So where, when, what - ??...I imagine restraints being necessary to keep him from jamming...

Just did an image search of Hendrix and he wears that same ring on the same left hand. Am thinking its the real deal. I don't think an impersonator would also be left handed player.
Avatar 8:43am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- As a Commenter says there:...'not even a proper Fender Strat, that headstock is an ESP which was definitely made in the 80s' - resemblance helps in impersonation - I'm guessing nothing deceitful intended there originally - like an Elvis impersonator...
