Caving to the crybabies earlier on things like the sequester has only emboldened them and brought us to this point.

The problem with gerrymandering is that knuckleheads feel more threatened by the more extreme knucklehead instead of the more moderate knucklehead.

Having seen K Sebeilus fail on the Daily Show makes me less optimistic. The Obama admin message is altogether failing. You just can't help people who refuse to be bothered getting involved enough to believe anything for more than 5 minutes. Even if it might help them live longer, healthier lives.

Has anyone here shopped the "Markets" and found the monthly premium for an individual that's less than your cell bill (lets say $100?)

If people choose not to have health insurance, that's their business. If they believe the rest of us will pay for their health care through their laziness, they would be wrong.

The markets seem to average between $150 and $350, depending upon your state and appropriate tax credits. Naturally, politics drives this mandate: the conservative states are refusing to open their own markets, which drives up the cost for their citizens and, in some cases, results in denial of coverage.

I feel better hearing 2 sane people talk about this. Great show! Thank you both.

what is Amanda's new monthly rate?

i agree this is one of the only rational discussions on the ACA i've heard on any media source in the past few months... thanks Chris T
Avatar 6:49pm
Danne D:

It's rational b/c they are talking about the ACA.
If they were talking about Obamacare it'd have gone off the rails by now.

Well I think about a year later people who haven't signed up if they aren't exempt from being too poor, will have to pay a $95 dollar penalty per year. And btw if so many people have no insurance and go to the emergency room all the time, it already makes everyones' expenses go up when the hospitals can't collect those bills.

Logic behind Republican governors not opting in:
They are afraid it will succeed and be popular.

The point I am feebly trying to make is that people without insurance will no longer be allowed medical care without pre-payment (payment on the spot). This is the cost-saving hallmark of the AFA.

If papa johns could be called a job creator or even a source of real pizza I don't know but the owner of that and also the person in charge of domino's pizza both claimed they would cut their employees hours to avoid having to provide insurance. Some care taking or leadership that is. I guess they are just trying to keep everything they do at the same crappy level.
