Dry dung is fuel, right? I could burn campaign literature -- delivered free -- for warmth in these first weeks of cold.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:13am Alex In Illinois:

@Doug: Yes, exactly, the interview was in Canada, and he talked a lot about the draft.

@still b/p: That gives me an idea! The way I start barbeque fires is by burning paper using one of those small metal chimney things that holds the charcoal above the paper. So my idea is to celebrate the end of election season by barbequing on a fire started using only campaign literature.
  10:15am jeff g.:

The great writer on jazz Larry Blumenfeld just walked by, so there's that.

Hoo boy. Time to get out of this car.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:16am Andrew Waterloo:

Just don't burn any Rob Ford campaign material. Well, maybe if you're in a good mood and your evening is free.
  10:18am aearrie:

Political hype is incinerated vitriol before it's burned, isn't it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18am Doug Schulkind:

Andrew Waterloo, how do you do?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Doug Schulkind:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Doug Schulkind:

Doesn't this Oliver Nelson piece sound like a track from the score to a Western film?!
Avatar 10:36am still b/p:

Speaking of jazz connections...never heard until recently of Billy Crystal's family jazz links in NY -- dad's record store and weekly shows, the many known names that visited the store and the home; Billy says he was on Billie Holiday's lap to see Shane at the movies. Surprising to me just because I'd think this stuff woulda been inescapably told and TOLD by Crystal himself and eager entertainment profilers over the last thirty years.
Avatar 🥁 10:37am βrian:

And what's the other one? "You lie down with dougs, you get up with ...?"
