Good evening Nick. Ken once hid 20 dollars inside a Jandek cd in the library, I wonder if anyone found it?
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 12:11am coelacanth∅:

Ken probably found it!
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 12:11am coelacanth∅:

Hello phat
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 12:30am coelacanth∅:

hey Fox!
  Fri. 6/29/18 12:32am rw:

Howdy all. I'm not sure why I don't have all the Muffins LPs. Maybe because things were harder to come by in the old days. Good to hear it on the radio though... Thanks Nick!
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 12:39am coelacanth∅:

i was late to learn of the muffins. how late? long after their original existence.
  Fri. 6/29/18 12:42am Nick Name:

hey rw
  Fri. 6/29/18 12:45am rw:

'80s Don Cherry... I remember liking that '80s sound back in the '80s but then it got cheesy fast. (Not just Cherry but lots of stuff.) I'm slowly coming back around.
  Fri. 6/29/18 12:57am rw:

coel, I knew of The Muffins in the late '70s or early '80s from being a fan of Fred Frith whom I knew of from being a fan of Eno. That guy was a conduit for so much stuff in my late childhood it's crazy.
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:03am coelacanth∅:

i didn't hear the Don Cherry track. (was in the kitchen looking for a mouse) but i'm not coming around at all to the cheesy poseur 80s. i'm also not jumping on the i like all those shitty disco songs now even though they sucked then and don't not suck now but i'm tricked because of nostalgia bandwagon. i'm getting older but i still don't need uncreative soul-free music.
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:04am Ajay:

Morning. Enjoying the set out here in Krommenie / The Netherlands
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:08am coelacanth∅:

rw that makes it even weirder, being very into Eno through the majority of the 70s and being somewhat aware of Frith. i used to by records just because they were produced by Eno. i discovered ultravox! that way and my initiation into drone music (aside from "i'm not in Love"- 10cc) was buying (no pussyfooting) simply because it was Eno.

Fox, today you're on one of the the Apple & android store demos w/ a screenshot of one of your comments showing the free WFMU app. Yesterday, I was included/ (we comment a lot, so it was bound to happen). Anoche, mis amigos y amigas!
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:23am rw:

coel, I have to admit I like disco a lot more now than I did back then. Maybe in part because of nostalgia but probably more because it only pops up here and there. But every once in a while I'll hear a bunch of disco songs in a row and it will remind me of why I hated that shit so much at the time!
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:26am Nick Name:

hi northguineahills
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:32am Diezel Tea:

Good morning folks. Eno has worked with Frith and Fripp, so I wonder if I name my next band "Frick" he'll wanna work with us.))
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:32am PNW THC:

great show so far, as usual!

Jesus, this gamelan is a revelation.
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:42am coelacanth∅:

rw haha
- well the truth is i did like a few disco songs back then, and there are a few artists i *kind of*? liked well i definitely didn't hate - like Donna Summer...but most of it was disturbingly shallow (lyrically, of course, but also musically) and often just mimicry for fame & money. (like the bee gees)
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:43am coelacanth∅:

and Diezel T i think you're onto something

Hi Diesel Tea / PNW THC / ike
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:47am Diezel Tea:

Hey Nick, quick question: If I somehow strike it rich in Armenia (hehehe) and donate $3-5k to your program can I become dictator insist that you never leave this time slot? Who's with me?!
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:50am coelacanth∅:

well, you're the dictator so - sure!
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:55am rw:

Diezel T, I'm with you. This show is in the perfect time slot for me! My guess is that Nick might be happier with more civilized hours though. My personal preference would be for more programming like this at all hours!
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:55am Nick Name:

@ Diezel Tea: 3-5 k would be much appreciated, I'm with you on that, can we make this happen ha ha
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 1:57am Diezel Tea:

I misused dictator. My English gets worse every year since I've been here. Benevolent slave driver would be closer to what I have in mind? @Nick, I'm considered middle class yuppie here and I earn ~$700/month, but we'll get there))
  Fri. 6/29/18 1:58am Nick Name:

$700 will get you benevolent slave driver , no problem
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 2:05am Diezel Tea:

And a month without my apartment, human food, cat food, I'll see if my better half is ok with that though because she is a FMU devotee now. Or I could funnel money from my NGO once incorporation is approved by the state of Dela oh no said too much
  Fri. 6/29/18 2:06am rw:

Good luck striking it rich, DT! The world could use more benevolent slave drivers with your values!
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 2:21am Diezel Tea:

I mean, who isn't digging on going from gamelan and Goat to SS and Godbert? Praise and respect be due.
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 2:23am Diezel Tea:

I'll be absent for the rest of the show but tuned in, my own slave driver will be approaching soon.)) See y'all, cheers.
Avatar Fri. 6/29/18 2:34am coelacanth∅:

i'm out also
Thank you Nick
