Do not know play-by play.

It is that fine rain that at first you ignore until you realise that you are drenched. My thoughts when riding a motorcycle in the rain were that once I waw soaked I could not get any wetter. My glass is usually half full.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am
Jeff Golick:

I like that attitude. I'd by happy to join you in a muddy foxhole, Brian. (Well, "happy.")

All the archive shows are using the 'old' pop-up even those since the new one appeared recently. Quaint to see the album sleeves, details etc.

Is there a newer new one? I thought the new one had the album covers and details, etc....?

Sorry yes the new one with details but if you archive last weeks show it will be the old pop-up.

Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:53am

First time I heard Sun Ra must have been around 1971. I was not prepared, too young maybe, though John Coltrane had got my attention with his late Fifties/early Sixties quartets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am
Jeff Golick:

On the anagram front, I have a track tentatively slated for later that is an author reading a palindrome of his own devising...for 15 minutes. Good idea? Bad?
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:54am
Uncle Michael:

Is it one, short palindrome...over and over?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am

@UM: you talking musical quotations? If so, I missed it.

And, no: it's one very long palindrome.

Speaking of Sun Ra and John Gilmore, there's this remarkable document:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAVXGWEumUc

of the Arkestra augmented by very big name free jazz men (Cherry, Bowie, Shepp....) -- happened at a German jazz festival, of course. Fascinating overall, but somewhere in the later portion (I don't remember the exact time point), John Gilmore plays a solo that takes everyone else to school. And you can see them acknowledging it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22am
Jeff Golick:

Thanks for that, @mic_break, and welcome! Will def check it out after the show. What year is it from, if you recall?
