I don't know how one of the catchiest pop songs of the 80s is on the same level as the thong song/a bad song. But, different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 3/18/19 10:07am VincentNifigance:

@Cmurtha Yes, it's a good synth riff, up there with 'Jump' you can omit listening to it on your own time, but you can't deny that it's catchy.

RIP Dick Dale

In 1962 Dick Dale rearranged [Misirlou] as a solo instrumental rock guitar piece. During a performance, Dale was bet by a young fan that he could not play a song on only one string of his guitar. Dale's father and uncles were Lebanese-American musicians, and Dale remembered seeing his uncle play "Misirlou" on one string of the oud. He vastly increased the song's tempo to make it into rock and roll.

We had a big band and played back-up to three women doing an Andrew Sisters set a few years ago, it was so much fun
Avatar Mon. 3/18/19 11:28am Elle Elle:

Thank you, Joe! This set will put ear to ear smiles on the faces of my dad and his fellow residents at the memory care facility where he's living. Bless the archives :)

Oscar (And WM Henry), let's face it, that just might be the single funniest Bugs short ever.

The Gong Show was the best. I had a performance art professor who "won" worst act on TGS. The prize was the same as "best" act!
Mon. 3/18/19 11:40am David in London:

@Joe McG - no need to apologise man, keep at it. We listen to FMU to hear stuff that doesn’t get played anywhere else. This is Grade A music. If I were a requesting man I put in a shout for Al Bowlly...

Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 3/18/19 11:48am The Oscar:

@Cmurtha Same! I was hoping for something that would at least be okay; I wasn't expecting the single most ambitious work of Lynch's career. (And ditto on the big band set-- this is so, so good!)
