Hey everyone. Nature calls. Will be back shortly...

Hiya BC!

Mr Fab:

Hi hi BC (and Ursula1000). “Sonic Seasonings” is way underrated. Ambient, some years before Eno. It even uses the term “ambience” in the liner notes.

Heh. Nature calls. Have to add that to my list of Possible Epitaphs.

Ha, that’s genius!

This album is a lost treasure. I forgot all about it. How he made these albums, using those particular machines, and tape machines, seems almost impossbly slow and difficult, technically. And to do it while navigating his/her own gender dysphoria just blows my mind.

BC Sterrett:

Sorry, a little under the "weather." Hi S.O.P. I agree, this album is beautiful. Probably my favorite record by Carlos.

Mr Fab:

Yep, everyone knows “Switched on Bach,” which seems to have overshadowed some of her other accomplishments. I just have this on vinyl - wasn’t even digitally available for a while, and just checked - seems to have fallen out of print again.

Hi, BC and WFMU folx!
MR Fab: I found that "Sonic Seasonings" in some free bin somewhere and was delightfully impressed by what i heard. I like all her stuff.

BC Sterrett:

Found this Tim Clark record in a dollar bin. It has never sold on discogs to my knowledge, so the record store employee probably didn't know how to price it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
chresti:

That was the last question before they put it in the dollar bin.
Avatar 12:33pm
Mr Fab:

Is the critter with big ears part of the album packaging?
Avatar 12:36pm
BC Sterrett:

It's my cat Gertrude. I should have photographed her with each record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
chresti:

Is that Gertrude announcing?
Avatar 12:38pm
Mr Fab:

“Relaxing office work”: Will have to play this episode in archives should I ever get an office job again!
Avatar 12:40pm
BC Sterrett:

Having my cat announce would be a wonderful idea!
Avatar 12:47pm
Mr Fab:

When they reopened the Griffith Obervatory a few years ago, no more Lazarium shows at the planetarium. Sounds like the kind of show WFMU would revive. Now all we need is a planeterium...
Avatar 12:49pm
BC Sterrett:

If there's time left, I'll play another planetarium soundtrack piece as a bonus track.
Avatar 12:57pm
BC Sterrett:

My final track. Thanks for tuning in everyone! See you next time. ...For something completely different than this. Stay tuned for Sounds Spectacular.
Avatar 12:58pm
Ursula1000:

cheers! keep it moving here wfmu.org...

Thanks BC!
