It turns out that others on the chatboards have been plotting boat adventures to jolly olde England. The Good Ship Ticklish Diablito has been nominated to be the flagship!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

solo mon: was Cork Marcheschi still at SFAI when you were there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

He told a bunch of teenagers, "It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission." It took me YEARS to realize how wrong and entitled that was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
solo mon:

Oh I think so? I mostly only payed attention to George kuchar and Larry Jordan, that was all I cared abt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Cork was in sculpture.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
solo mon:

I got a lot of terrible advice and some great advice from my advisors at SFAI (RIP)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Then there was the time my Performance Art teacher placed two bottles of tequila and a row of joints on the table and said, "i hope you pass your final!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
solo mon:

Yeah then no I was living breathing experimental film and “new genres” which we now know as time based art LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

wait, New Genres id now Time-Based Art? When did that happen? I feel even more decrepitated!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Back in MY day, it was P/V (performance/video)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Before that, it was the sculpture department and "Installation Pieces"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
solo mon:

I just think that’s what the art world calls it nowadays. We just called performance art, but SFAI was the only place calling it “new genres” or as I called it “taking off your clothes and bathing in pudding.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Franco Twinkie:

Years ago when I lived in Pasadena, I found a copy of Surf Rockin' by Joe Houston at the Disabled American Veterans thrift store. For some inexplicable reason(I was high on drugs) I very carefully cut out the letters on the album cover and glued them to the wall in the dining room. I wish I hadn't done that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
solo mon:

There was a lot of pudding, as I recall. None of it was eaten.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):
