@myron - wasn't that the original title?
Avatar 2:53pm

Avatar 2:58pm
Surferbhoy:

I saw Stevie in Edinburgh, Scotland in the 80's. He did a Karaoke bit asking if someone wanted to sing. A wee woman got up and asked if he could play Leo Sayer's "When I Need You!" He said "You start it..." She did, and played along with her!! Hysterical and amazing!
Avatar 2:59pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm
Gaylord Fields:

Thanks, DD! It was the utmost! Eddie is so much more than his one monster soul hit!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
OnTheTrain:

When I was a kid I always wanted to play trumpet this good. Then I discovered the Tuba .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Dennis Diken:

@Mike - here to please! @OnTheTrain - the trumpet is lighter to haul
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Andrew in Toronto:

Great anecdote Dennis
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
OnTheTrain:

Denny: Very true but playing the tuba is so much fun. I also do not have the "Cool" to play the trumpet like that .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm
Wild Honey:

Dave says Barry played drums on The Magic Touch. Allegedly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm
Dennis Diken:

@Andrew, thanks! @OnTheTrain - do you do sessions?? @Wild Honey - thanks! news we can use!
  3:26pm
Joeybug69:

Howdy Dennis! And Happy New Year!
Stan Kenton, Maynard Ferguson, AND Buddy Rich each played my junior high school back in ‘69 or ‘70. And I taped them on a Sears Silvertone reel-to-reel, a perk from being on stage crew. I think they’re around somewhere but probably need to be baked at some point, if it’s not too late.

Also, Doc Pomus used to come to shows at the BLT, and he was very pleasant to us staff members. I personally wheeled him in on several occasions...

Thanks for the tunes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
Dennis Diken:

@Joeybug69 -very cool, yeah, hung with Doc alot. Donna was the only waitress he would let wait on him at The Bottom Line!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm

I swear Elvis could have played a show at the Grand Canyon. Those pipes were something else.
  3:35pm
Joeybug69:

Nice! I thought he had lived nearby, but I may be mistaken. Of course Lou Reed lived around the corner. Used to see him walking the dog. He tried to have me fired because I wouldn’t give him a bottle of vodka during sound check one time. Stan had to come down & straighten him out. : /
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm
Dennis Diken:

@Joeybug - Doc lived on the west side around or on 72nd St. I guess Lou needed "his man" - unavailable at the Bottom Line!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
myron feld:

As "T.U.S.A." played, I couldn't help but "sing" the words to "Pressed Rat And Warthog." Mr. Baker had that certain style!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Dennis Diken:

@myron - what's wrong with "Blue Condition"?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
