It was the only major city in the US to not have riots. There a great doc called, "King in the Wilderness", based on King's last few years. I believe it's on HBO Max.

The chatter on NextDoor is the usual: "This is not the right time! Crime is out of control! Our infrastructure is in bad need of repair!" In other words: fix all of society's ills for good, then we can talk about renaming streets. But of course, "It has nothing to do with race!" None of this shit ever has anything to do with race. Especially when it has to do with race.

	10:08am Rick A.: Four years ago life was very melancholy. On a personal level, my wife was driving me to the airport to sort my late mother's remains. We were listening to Joe's MLK Day set, which included Gill Scott Heron's "Winter in America" which was very appropriate then. Listening to Joe's show somehow softened the sadness at the time. We are not out of the stress and melancholy yet though we are in a much better place than we were then. Joe has provided the rich soundtrack to all of it, thank you!!

We were listening to Joe's MLK Day set, which included Gill Scott Heron's "Winter in America" which was very appropriate then. Listening to Joe's show somehow softened the sadness at the time. We are not out of the stress and melancholy yet though we are in a much better place than we were then. Joe has provided the rich soundtrack to all of it, thank you!!
