Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

I saw Gerald Cleaver with Joëlle Léandre and Mat Maneri at Instants Chavirés in Montreuil in January last year. So depressing how few I've seen since, but that show was a good memory

Even (before last year), musicians still have to hide or show up w/o instruments b/c they had a tourist visa, not an artist visa. So, my friends and I had to find them instruments (if you use a laptop, or electronics, much easier to avoid)
