@Handy ah! There seem to be a bunch of UM folks here ... WCBN (where Ken started, I understand) helped shape us. I went to their volunteer fair with high hopes of having a show, and found out I needed to do a year of service jobs at the station and my dumb, 18 year old self did not want to do that, so I BLEW IT.

B R M, a friend of mine from growing up who was finishing his undergrad when I was there for grad school had a show, I think 12-3 AM, so I went down and MCed a few times with him. I had listened to FMU, FDU, BAI when I was in college back here, so it all sort of made sense to me at the time. It's the *next* set of years of not actively pursuing freeform radio that I regret. But eventually my brain kicked back in.
