Scratchy vanity 45s, pilfered field recordings, muddy off-the-radio sounds, homemade congregational tapes and vintage commercial gospel throw-downs; a little preachin', a little salvation, a little audio tomfoolery.

cockroachers are the fastest insects and have pressure sensors on the back of their legs so they know when the swater is coming, and..they can collapse themselves to paper thin.

my senior year at college, lived in my second off campus apartment -- one night cleaning the tiny kitchen's floor, this HUGE cockroach comes out of *somewhere* -- and even though i was cleaning the floor with boiling hot ammonia water, the f*cker just would not die -- it was like he was swimming in it, and then went back into the wall
(& yup, this was up north -- New Brunswick, NJ -- but unfortunately i had roommates who were allergic to washing their dirty dishes)

You are doing a great work don't come down. I appreciate the whole program, even the tongue and cheek remarks. My dad had the first Gospel show on WILD in Boston. One of his best sponsors was Bishop L. Virdue from Louisiana. He was a reader and adviser. He did very well. My dad played records and gave away Hair Grease at the soul food markets on Saturday. He got paid by the Jewish owners who sold chicken, pigs feet and chitterlings( Lord Jeff's). He had a personal relationship with all the major groups. Best friends were JJ Farley and Willie Neal Johnson who would come to him at a discounted fee. I had a rich childhood . Jimmy Byrd says, " Rev Crayton Sr. wasn't an educated man, but he was a smart man, he could sell an eskimo ice!"
