I remember how it felt as this was emerging. It was so late at night. I had no idea it was coming. Still one of my favorite moments ever.

Been listening to a lot of Beatles isolated multitracks lately, so this was on my mind

I did a funny remix of "Birthday" with the isolated tracks out of synch. I'm working on another one that's in 7/8.

Avatar 4:15pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This one at the free103point9 loft was a month before the WFMU show that we started with, so there is some overlap in samples used. But to very different effect, I think.

I was just getting takeaway for lunch and at the taco stand, the counter person kept going "number nine? number nine? number nine?"
I was the only one who laughed and I am pretty sure they thought I was insane.

@Henry I have had a fondness for bringing isolated tracks out of sync since since some 1997 or 1998 shows

@Kenzo I also got my first Beatle Boot CD at the Elk's Club WFMU Record fair.

Looks like I did some unsynching experiments in this July 1998 show: lastever.org... (no audio, it's still on a cassette)

Those Hanna-Barbera sound effects trigger weird things in my subconscious. Like I'm gonna get clobbered by something or run in place, unable to contact the ground with my feet or get stuck running in a repeating background.

Yeah, the repeating background. Note Yellow Submarine image up above, perhaps same animators?

@Rich several CDs of H-B sound effects are available on Archive.org.

Someone made a YouTube video of an entire H-B archive and I've played as many tabs of it as possible in my browser and it's absolutely maddening.
