I once went to a show at Chuck's loft for a show he put on. I was in grad school and broke, so, I snuck a 40 oz in (even though he mentioned, no outside drinks). Well, at the end of the show, I dropped what was left of the 40, on his floor, and he was less then amused (I cleaned it up).

I've played shows (on the same bill) as Ras Moshe. Never heard Dafna Naphtali.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 5:21pm

Lots of Dafna to discover for you, ngh. Fine vocalist with major electronics chops.

Webhamster Henry:

I knew Chadabe through Intelligent Music, where I was a beta tester and they included my spectral drawing app RGS as an extra disk with copies of the Amiga version of M. About 10 years ago, we were trying to work up an e-book about synthesis that didn't get too far. Also he wanted me to convert some of my software to ProTools plugins, but their API was horrible.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 5:24pm
david w:

Interesting. My discovery of M changed the way I approached electronic music.
Avatar 5:25pm
northguineahills:

@Henry: I think my book came w/ a floppy disc (23 years ago). He was very nice, and the book was cheap at the show, as we were all starving students [he also lectured at my electro-acoustic class, once, and this was UF, a long way from home for him]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
Webhamster Henry:

I have a copy of M on this very machine that I might be able to run in Amiga 'M'-ulation.

Avatar 5:37pm

@ruth: for our noise shows, I had to help him w/ all of of his gear, which was soooo heavy. (says the guy that used take two flightcases for a turntabilist gig).

Eyvind Kang is so very wonderful. Thanks for sharing that!

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:40pm
WR:

During the Parkins piece I was bagging recycle glass plastic and metal and sounded like i was part of the percussive ensemble.
Avatar 6:42pm
northguineahills:

I used to always walk around the audience, while playing while my ensemble went on. One time, I was playing an mbira w/ a remote contact mic, and started to crawl under the audiences chairs (I have no idea eihter), and when I got underneath my friend's chair, she said, "what are you doing aaron?". I replied, "making sounds?" people laughed, and it was all caught on the recording.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:43pm

@WR and ngh, now that's interactivity!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm

That's when you were supposed to pour lighter fluid on your mbira, and set it on fire
