Hello all
Avatar 7:24pm northguineahills:

Baluchastan is the region in SE Iran and SW Pakistan, they are their own ethic group, and have an armed uprising against both countries for almost 40 years...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm melinda:

pew pew
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm Richard S:

Is it Vocal Fry if they are using electronics?
Swag For Life Member 7:30pm Bruce S.:

This is so funny
Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Bruce S.:

that was not meant as a put down
Avatar 7:32pm Dan Bodah:

@melinda, lol! @Richard S, as long as they are accompanying the electronics with funny voices -- or I am in the mood for it! @Bruce S, I think it's meant to be funny -- she's hysterical
Avatar 7:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hullo !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm ultradamno:

I mean The Cramps have been played, they have electronic instruments, so why not?
Avatar 7:34pm Dan Bodah:

Welcome RRN63, ultradamno
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Richard S:

Fry your vocals, not your electronics!
Avatar 7:35pm Dan Bodah:

@NGH, yes -- there's one video of a nur sur performance where everyone is wearing fatigues and carrying
AKs as they sit near an armored vehicle listening
Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Bruce S.:

When I realized there is alot of humour on this show the curtain parted and now I listen every week
Avatar 7:47pm northguineahills:

@Dan: Balochistani rebels even attacked an US drone base in the province.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

And now, the Bryce-friendly portion of the program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Richard S:

(I'm going to check out now....have some other things I need to do. Catch you later!)
  7:54pm ?:

More Fry. Hip, Hip, Hooray
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Ike:

Hi. Sounding good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Looking forward to 2 hours tonight!
Avatar 8:08pm Dan Bodah:

@Ike, heya -- no pirate interference with this yodel-laden treasure ship tonight? @SCL - me too!
Swag For Life Member 8:08pm Bruce S.:

I like this its dark and scary
Avatar 8:11pm Dan Bodah:

@Bruce S, yeah -- Zoo is the noise-rock band of Rully Shabara from the Indonesian band Senyawa. www.rullyshabara.id
Avatar 8:12pm northguineahills:

aye, I love Senyawa!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm Rob W:

The Rafizi Ramii song was a (Malaysian?) version of the Hindi Song Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana which was sung by Kishore Kumar (for Rajesh Khanna) in Andaz (1971 Bollywood Film) - video: www.youtube.com... . The original version was composed by the famous Bollywood songwriting duo Shankar Jaikishan.
Avatar 8:13pm Dan Bodah:

@Rob, thanks for that -- I thought it sounded familiar. It was repurposed as a campaign songs there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm eºIºk:

Funny you mention that, @Dan, I was in Prospect Pk. on Sat. and listened for pirates for the first time in a long time. I heard about 20 of them. One was even running an ad for a political candidate, Dweynie Paul for Surrogate Court Judge, in Haitian French/Creole! (Of course, that's the corrupt machine candidate and we should all vote for the other one, Rosemarie Montalbano.)
Avatar 8:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yahoo! just got sold - so yeah it does...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm eºIºk:

Well, maybe I shouldn't say necessarily "corrupt" but the old Brooklyn party machine cannot be trusted. I usually have no idea what's going on with all those random judges on the ballot (NEW YORK! WHY? do we elect JUDGES?!?) but this time I've been reading up, at least on that one race.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm Rob W:

@Dan - sure thing... and very interesting re: the political repurposing!
  8:25pm Doctor Ninja:

Great show as always! The Konnakol Duet was amazing!
Avatar 8:25pm Dan Bodah:

Yeah, no one knows what's up with the judges. People often ask me since I'm a lawyer (true story) but I rarely know. But yeah there's still a machine in Brooklyn.
Avatar 8:26pm ranjit:

double-size vocal fry gave me time to complete my tax filing with fry encouragement!
Avatar 8:27pm Dan Bodah:

@ranjit, I live to serve.
Swag For Life Member 8:27pm Bruce S.:

I feel this is a very angelic set
  8:32pm The Butterman:

Ooooooo , a little factoid about our dj. He’s a lawyer! I figured you ran an illicit fermented goat milk business.
Avatar 8:35pm Dan Bodah:

@Butterman, you wouldn't believe how many of the goat milk and cheese sellers at the NYC Greenmarkets are lawyers who burnt out and moved to Jersey or the Hudson Valley to ferment goat milk in peace
Avatar 8:35pm Dan Bodah:

Actually not a joke -- it seems to be a well-established career path.
Swag For Life Member 8:39pm Bruce S.:

Ensemble Consensus seems interesting
  8:59pm ?:

DB#1. Our double pleasure
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm listener 126464:

Thank you Dan.
Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Bruce S.:

pleasent evening dan thanks
  2:52pm mic_a:

Regular time traveling listener here -- thanks for the extra long and atmospheric serving of Fry. Lobbing in a late post to point out an ancient Greek to Balkan angle that was new to me.
