Hi Robert! I've found multiple versions of this one

It's in the garage somewhere, part of the tiny collection of records I mostly got during childhood or inherited, so I'm not eager to check on which version I have.

Hi Jan, yesterday Chrestis son was in town so we got together for lunch. I asked him where he was staying, he said with a friend in his old neighborhood. I asked him how that was, he said "Weird, it made me feel so old, tons of young party people all over the place." He just turned thirty three a couple weeks ago. Young party people - oy! I can't even go there. Happy birthday.

Franco Twinkie:

Jan, years ago I was working on TV commercial with a crew of much younger guys. I was the designated truck driver, and the unspoken rule is the driver picks the music. One smart-ass said to me in a very condescending voice "Oh, I suppose we're going to have to listen to nothing but The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin the whole job." I said nothing as they passed me their Radiohead cd's for the player, which was educational for me, because I had never listened to Radiohead. Kids! The perceptions they have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01am
Jan Turkenburg:

I learned a lot from the CDs students brought to the music lesson. They could earn extra point by giving a lecture on their favorite song. win-win situation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am
Franco Twinkie:

John Rait - Bonnies dad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
MHLee:

I pretty sure nothing but the rolling stones sounds exactly like something my dad would play
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am
Jan Turkenburg:

I would probably bombard them with ELO, Supertramp and a bit of Bowie ;-)

The bar moves everyday that separates old people who know nothing and young people who know everything. I know this implicitly, because I was young once and now I'm old.

I was flipping through the records at my local Goodwill and a cute mom and her kids stopped nearby and she asked if those were really records, like they were super rare. She gathered her kids over and went "Hey, remember CDs? These are like your grandma's CDs - what SHE listened to!"
I felt really old but in her defense, I AM a grandfather.

spodiodi, I recommend his Delirium In Hi-Fi LP. It's amazing. I think you'll really enjoy it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am

Yes, Delirium in HIFI was the name of the release I got to know in the mid eighties. And I taped and memorized a radio show about it.

I went to school with a Marianne. She was an willowy hippie girl who gave the impression she lived in a tree. Then I went to her house and was shocked to find out she had a mom and dad just like me. She asked me if I wanted something to eat, and watched her in utter amazement as she peeled me a carrot in the kitchen sink.
  11:40am
Listener Robert:

Burl Ives gave the unusual (but far from unique) impression as someone who's just there to have a good time and then is called onto stage and bursts into song. Something like Jonathan Richman. Or Leon Redbone.

Listener Robert:

It's just that some performers when they get up, you know this is the important part of the evening for them, and it's a big emotional release, and they're wound up with the audience. And others look as if they were just there WITH the audience, feeling happy and enjoying the show themselves, and just happen to be the musicians. It's hard to explain, and not everyone will get the same impression.
