	1:02pm TDK60: Funky, I don't know. Frank & Mothers, in summer '67, had a long residence at the Garrick Theater on Bleecker, which was run by the Cafe Au Go Go and adjacent.

	2:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63: I imagine a lot o people were effected by this album like I was - starting with the Klarwien cover - which decades ago when young I found both fascinating & a little spooky... recorded I think days after Woodstock - roiling & strung out in its way...

	3:39pm Funky16Corners: If you're talking about this album, I think it's a very sympathetic/sympatico treatment of the material, that I imagine Jimi would have dug, in that it's not corny or overly academic. like Gil wasn't trying to straighten out/improve on the source material

	3:43pm Funky16Corners: The "what ifs" of Hendrix are so filled with possibility. He clearly had big ideas, and liked to play in the studio and I can only imagine where he might have gone with a jazz arranger who understood his sound.

Indeed Bitches Brew was recorded in the three days after Woodstock. & Woodstock is iconic of some halcyon epiphany - but I think if you watch it - it's muddy & string out & political... & I think Miles was always the Cool surface with the roiling undercurrent...

	4:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Like Fun House by Stooges - & most of Free Jazz : some stuff just had to come out... I think if you take enuff acid, for example, that's one of the stations along the way that you reach...

	4:13pm Funky16Corners: @Kip - I think there are a couple of different styles of free/out that tread the border between control and anarchy in different ways. Ornette Coleman's quartet and Archie Shepp and the NY Contemporary Five are records I love, but some of Trane's out stuff is too much for me

	4:17pm Discotech Underground: @Larry-Many years ago I bought a record collection that had about thirty ESP/Disk titles by people I had never heard of. I went through and played many of them and they were just mostly noise. I can handle a little Cecil Taylor but only in small amounts.

Indeed Bitches Brew was recorded in the three days after Woodstock. & Woodstock is iconic of some halcyon epiphany - but I think if you watch it - it's muddy & string out & political... & I think Miles was always the Cool surface with the roiling undercurrent...
