Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
...when Van Gogh had bright colors
- but dark lines...
broken & radiant like the Liberty Bell
but it only rang once
so for all the Summers
in one lifetime
let there resound Musics
on cherry peach webpages
& momentary orange Sunsets
blazing like electrons
here & always gone
his plastic laptop
struggling & wheezing a small synthetic breeze
...Dylan says are birds Free of the skyways ?
Maybe Bob.
I'd still rather be Beat & a Bird
with all the Boowie madmen
than with all the sadmen roaming Free...
Man, forgot all about room 222. The only thing I can remember about that show was cute Karen Valentine as a teacher dealing with the angst of her students. Kinda boring acually.
greetings, Gaylord! Everyone!
what you have been playing is beautiful -- THANK YOU!!! 😺😺😺
(got home bout 8:30pm so i have been listening but still dealing with other stuff)
and YES, Gaylord, i was totally thinking the same thing re: Bernie/Room 222 😺😺😺
Thanks Gaylord for tonight's freeform journey! Really wonderful. Take care all!

i wondered whatever happened to the actress who played Helen -- i really liked her!
so one day i finally remembered to look her up -- turned out she stopped acting (maybe started working behind the camera? do not recall exactly) -- someone was stalking her, really harassing her -- and back then, i don't think there were any laws against this (& even if there were, were they even enforced?) -- hell, i do not think the term "stalking" even existed as a term to describe this 😾😾
