The first time I saw Captain Beefheart live they did the most amazing thing. They were paying Alice In Blunderland and it slowly started morphing into Abba Zabba. It would retreat, then reappear until they went into like a runaway train. It was so thrilling!

Robbie, sure. Big fan of HN but, for some reason, don't play him that often. Will do something about that!

For the Sewelson/ Mendoza episode. Surprised it was over a year ago.

Saw Dave Sewelson and his band at Vision Fest thanks to Tom Dash’s recommendation. Great stuff. The whole night had some amazing live music. Also loved Dave Burrell & Darius Jones.

I'm probably in the minority, but I like the Left Banke Too LP better than the first LP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
Little Danny:

I don't think you're in the minority, RW - I strongly agree with you, at least.

Robbie White:

Bob just an FYI but tomorrow I start on WOWD an hour earlier - at 8AM to noon.
Avatar 1:16pm
Bob Brainen:

Robbie, that's the first time I've ever heard that! Ok, Danny, the 2nd time.
4 hours tomorrow-cool!
RE: Left Banke, love both albums dearly, but the debut is sooo strong.

Thank you for mentioning that. Another interesting looking community radio station I didn't know about.

Interesting sounds for a 50s tv show.

WR- I went in person. It was at Pioneer Works, a cool art gallery/performance space in Red Hook.

@Robbie White, WOWD? Takoma Park in the house! My fave local DC station! I look forward to listening to your show tomorrow.

Pauly I'm doing an hour substitute show from 8-9AM, then Forbdden Alliance from 9-12. The 8AM show will concentrate on music that influenced the Beatles.

Robbie, I'll be tuning in. Also, I can't believe you host Forbidden Alliance with the legend, Weasel! That is so cool. WHSF is sorely missed.

Pauly, Weasel is supposed top return to my show in September now that Covid restrictions at WOWD are easing up.

Robbie, that's great news! Hopefully, the Covid situation in the area will not get too much worse.

BOB, i recognized that distinctive voice on lead with the Chairmen of the Board immediately. Tou rarely hear "Every Day is Tuesday." Most often, it's "Gimme Just Some Kind of Sign."

Hey Gerry from Miami! The great General Johnson. Lots of awesome songs. In give me just a little more time he does that amazing sound like Billy Stewart! I wait for that moment every time I hear that song.

If anyone is wondering, "General" really was his name.

Right, and Major Lance was ~his~ real name.
Major Holley as well. But only one General!!
Any others w/military rank names? Army Archer, and Sargant Shriver. Kinda odd/kinda cool.

You threw me off a bit there, Bob. I meant to write "Give Me Just a Little More Time." Then you played Brenton Wood, who had a hit titled "Gimme Some Kind of Sign." Brain scramble!
