Hi MHLee. I listened to the program you did on Saturday. Interesting mix of known and obscure (to me) pop and rock for Christian Jesus etc.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:05am
WR:

I tried to comment, MHLee, but it wouldn't work with the browser on my phone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am
MHLee:

@WR Oh, awesome. I got quite a bit of positive response of that one. I have a copy of the Acid Archives and found those tracks as an extension to a search for a song I have yet to identify... mostly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am
MHLee:

I run that show irregularly, there are 3 djs that alternate on that, but we don't rotate regularly... we just decide at some point in advance. My principal show is called the Otherworld and fantasy themed. By the end of week I plan to "offically" unveil the archives and blog but it's currently accessible from my profile here. We'll also be back in studio next week, I think which will be nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am

@Jan I think that last photo is memphis minnie again. For some reason she seems to get mislabeled as every other blueswoman.

It's Summer and a half over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am
Jan Turkenburg:

Oh dear, same mistake made twice... you're right. I had completely forgotten, just a vague sense of .. is this right? and forgot to check :=)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am

Clearly Minnie is just iconic

Coffee & grapefruit, not much changed since 1929.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am

I can't find a date for 4 Azes E 1 Coringa but two singles and b sides seem to be from 1929

1939 sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, they recorded from 1930 till 1950 but I couldn't find a date on this specific song.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10:31am

Never got into the grapefruit part.

Goodmorning Ursula1000!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am
MHLee:

Heh, I just realized pre-Acresia Arcesi/Don Darcey could be played on this show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am
Jan Turkenburg:

It''s not the first time I hear a non-dutch s[eaker say Dutch sounds like the Swedish chef. But to a dutchman the Swedish chef sounds like the Swedish chef too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am
MHLee:

I've only listened to Stan Kenton's bizarre stuff featured in songs in a key of z... and peanut vender
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am
Jan Turkenburg:

Don Darcey has been noted, MHLee :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am

Mary Ford actually overdubbed herself on the harmonies on most of her songs, gives them the sister harmony feel

@Chresti Thanks for the suggestion! I've considered contacting the station but right now I'm very busy as is! I know Jan simultaneously broadcasts and I think I'd have to find a way to do that! Maybe when I finish my PhD here I'll pitch moving my show.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am

Tiny Tim's final album I believe was a pitch accurate attempt to cover Russ Columbo... it's quite amazing... the band hand transcribed every note from old records
