Jan Turkenburg:

Hi MHLee!
  10:05am
MHLee:

I've said this before, but I was born in a town called Wheeling... home of the Wheeling Jamboree (huge deal in old country music)... when I saw Wheeling capitalized my heart jumped
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)

MHLee:

On the name " One of the more credible explanations is that the word comes from the Lenni-Lenape (Delaware as Anglos called them) phrase wih link or wee lunk, which meant "place of the head" or "place of the skull." This name supposedly referred to a white settler who was scalped and decapitated. His severed head was displayed at the confluence of Wheeling Creek and the Ohio River.

It's curious to me that Hawaiian music has so many great Dutch bands in it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32am
Jan Turkenburg:

I think the Hawaiian music came our way through our presence in Indonesia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am
Jan Turkenburg:

The Dutch Hawaiian bands mixed Hawaïan music with Indonesian Krontjong songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am
