	4:17pm WM: My Devo story: Back when I was in High School (around 1973) late one night I was watching a Japanese Kaiju movie (which I later found out was called War of the Gargantuas) with some of my friends.In one scene a woman singer on an ocean liner sings a song with the lyrics "If I had a little microphone hidden in my heart it would amplify my love for you...." Then a gigantic sea monster emerges from the ocean and swallows the screaming girl. Of course, my friends and I laughed hysterically. Years latter... around 1978... I was hearing Devo live at the Bottom LIne NYC. On their third encore the band began playing a song with lyrics "If I had a little microphone hidden in my heart..." I flashed back to images to the sea monster and the singer. I shouted "I know that song! What was the name of that movie?" It was still a few years later that I finally discover the name was War of the Gargantuas. (You can find the scene on YouTube.)

	4:38pm Barno: I once took my young daughters, both of whom are musicians and Devo fans, to see Gerald Casale speak at the college of art at Kent State University. We arrived late, so the lights were off and he didn't notice two little girls join the lecture hall. After the presentation, the lights went on and he saw my kids there, he appeared a little uncomfortable, I believe it because he had talked a bit about the druggy shenanigans at the SNL afterparty when Devo played. I used the opportunity to share the story of John Belushi with my kids, and the tragic consequences that often result from those kinds of actions. It was all good. :)

I'm sure I'll see her again. First time was at Maxwell's, with Ass Ponys and The Handsome Family. What a great night!
