If you didn't get your answer by now, "chevre" means "goat".

Hello all
  10:29am
Listener Robert:

We derive our words "caprice" and "capricious" from the behavior of young (little) goats, i.e. "Les petites chevres." They characteristically mature a little after birth and then start jumping around for a period.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am
Jan Turkenburg:

Good morning Ursula1000!
Hi MHLee!

WR:

That was two very distinctive versions of "In Holland Staat Een Huis". If we go searching would we find many different versions?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, WR I didn't have time enough to tell, but there are lots of versions of this song. I even have a complete album by a classical group playing the song in all kinds of styles.

In USA, "it is the squeaky wheel that gets the oil."
  11:00am
Listener Robert:

We also have names for 3 fatty acids from goats: capric, caprylic, and caproic acids. These short-chain fatty acids are said to be prominent in the glycerides (presumably mostly triglyceride) in goat milk. That being the case, I don't know why goat milk soap is supposed to be good, when soaps of that short a chain length are also supposed to be relatively irritating to skin and eyes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am
Jan Turkenburg:

thanks Listener Robert. It's weird realising that I have been seeing the word "caprice" on music sheets hundreds of times without knowing where it was derived from.
  Swag For Life Member 11:07am
WR:

Sarane was the guitarist. Yes he did work with Reinhardt. The possible violinist on that 1942 recording is Georges Effross who died in Nazi camp in 1944.

Hmm, the band Wilco runs a festival every other year called "Solid Sound", I wonder if this song is where that name came from.

Hi Jan! Hello everyone! Hello Jan's cat! It's been cooler the last few days here in the NY area but we're supposed to get a few days of summery weather again over the weekend and early next week so I'm not turning on the heat yet either.

  11:36am
Listener Robert:

Thanks, Jan. I'd been unaware of the music notation "caprice", so I looked it up in Wikipedia. I take it as the same as "a capriccio", on which there's an entry. When I took piano lessons, I doubt my teacher would've left anything to my caprice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am

  11:41am
Listener Robert:

Can I put some mustard on my response? Caprylic acid may be an ingredient, but OTOH coconut oil that's "stripped" of fatty chains shorter than C10 (or maybe C10 and shorter) is supposed to result in milder cosmetics than unstripped coconut. Anyway, I'm now asking in Quora.com why there's such a discrepancy.
