I come to praise the creatures we call cats.
I come armed with statements that are all facts.
No sound on Earth is as cool as the purr.
And when cats do move it is often a blur.
How do they climb to the top of the shelves?
And they seem happiest when by themselves.
When they get close no pet is a snuggly.
When cats rub their heads on me I cry ugly.
Oh cats when you strut around the place tails high
There's no one as noble! Don't even try!
Mice beware! Cats are great hunting the mouse!
And then leaving pieces around the house!
Among animals we have no favorites.
But at the top of the heap's where cats sit!

You are maybe the funnest pet to pet.
And you jump us when we get home, tongue wet!
Dogs! You're the Hulks of personality!
While other pets master frugality.
No other pet can catch a fast frisbee
And surely not with such obvious glee!
You let us know when the mailman is here
When it starts to thunder you disappear.
Dogs! We can never get enough of you!
We don't even mind picking up your poo!
It's true that dogs are the most perfect buds
Just not when it's time for some bathtub suds.
