As the History is often spun that TheBeatles were a remedy in the USA for the malaise after JFK's assassination - in the UK the rise of TheBeatles was charged with being a distraction in the Press *away* from the Profumo Scandal. Allegedly Lennon hearing of this prompted him to make his 'cheap seats clap hands, others - rattle yer jewelry' @ their Royal Command Performance 4th Nov., '63 - when I was less than 24 hours old... Class & changing social mores all in there - & the shift away from taking the government & politics seriously... The Scandal was that a Brit official high up had been sleeping with the same young woman that a Russian official had.

I asked him, "What's a hoax?" And he was talking about this world, this place. He said it was all an illusion. I thought he was just confused. But he was not confused.
