Also, lord bless Ozzy Osbourne!
Laurie Anderson <3 <3 <3
she gave a talk at Rutgers (Mason Gross School of the Arts?) when i was at Douglass, waaaaaay back in the late 70s -- STILL kicking myself for missing that
i did, however, get to see her at Prospect Park some years ago -- truly felt like being transported to another realm
reeeeally missing Lou -- for some reason his death is hitting me really hard this year
really enjoying this opening set, Sheila!
Thank you very much, Sheila.
Her best album!

...that would be like ...I dunno - an ironic ♏︎Scorpio ? 😁
and omg i can so totally relate -- my Dad was an accountant AND a Virgo, and i definitely inherited some of that -- sometimes it is a good thing, other times it drives me totally batsh*t crazy, hah!
nowadays there is SO much pressure to be PERFECT -- even though perfection simply does not exist

- which puts basic Identity & Vitality @ 'cross-purposes' with Structure & Authority.
It's good to be real & practical - but remember you are more than your shortcomings ! See the bigger picture as well as the details & just the downsides.
this makes so much sense -- THANK YOU!
- but I will say once more - here's another one during which I've still had *no* income. (When I have had any @ all - I done Swag For Life to keep the IV Drip going.)
So - when you support this cultural cornerstone (whatever its idiosyncrasies) - you do it for all of us
- & I cubscout dropout's honour appreciate you for it.
yes, WFMU is this amazing, supportive, totally bonkers oasis of *sanity* in this messed up insane world

"While discussing the origin of the title "Rhythm Nation", Jackson stated she first uttered the phrase during a conversation with her producers. "I thought it would be great if we could create our own nation" adding that it would be "one that would have a positive message and that everyone would be free to join." She based the idea on the prevalence of various youth groups and organizations that are formed as a means of creating a common identity. The usage of the number "1814" represents the year the national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner" was written."
thanks dj, gotta run. happy halloween to all.
still have this LP -- was all over the bargain bins when i was in college (late 70s/early 80s)
(coincidentally i listened to this album a lot when i studied in spain for a year,, Gurldoggie)
Ah well.
Happy Halloween anyhow. 😊
