One side-effect of working from home (and therefore almost never actually putting on shoes and just padding around the place in my cotton socks) has been that both of my big toes -- both severely gross looking due to an injury a zillion years ago -- are finally starting to grow in without looking like something pulled out of a snapping turtle's stomach.

	4:33pm Ike: Nobody ate Salisbury steak in Salisbury MD. It was all about oysters, fried chicken, and crappy chains like Red Lobster and Applebee’s. Strip malls as far as the eye can see. But you can’t see very far because the land is flatter than month-old Texas roadkill.

Washington DC’s WAMU barged in w/a huge repeater, killed off the other NPR stations, then suddenly abandoned the area and sold off its repeater to a religious operation when their attempted deal to sell it to Liane Hansen & co. fell through. No more clear NPR in Salisbury now, except the shoddy-sounding, poorly-managed HBCU jazz station where the drive-time news shows are filled w/long silences and dropped transitions.

	4:33pm Ike: Nobody ate Salisbury steak in Salisbury MD. It was all about oysters, fried chicken, and crappy chains like Red Lobster and Applebee’s. Strip malls as far as the eye can see. But you can’t see very far because the land is flatter than month-old Texas roadkill.

No more clear NPR in Salisbury now, except the shoddy-sounding, poorly-managed HBCU jazz station where the drive-time news shows are filled w/long silences and dropped transitions.
