If some of you are stuck somewhere over the holidays and need some streaming entertainment, BFI Player Classics has a 7 day free trial. (If you are outside of the UK and don't have a VPN, The British Film Institute Player isn't available.) I signed on to get "That'll Be The Day" with David Essex (and Ringo Starr! Moonie!) and watched two great shorts: "Momma Don't Allow" 1955 <a night out at the Wood Green Jazz Club, where teenagers jive to trad jazz. Karel Reisz and Tony Richardson> & "We Are the Lambeth Boys" 1958 <Karel Reisz’s honest and sympathetic depiction of South London teens aimed to challenge the media perception of ‘Teddy Boys’. . .>
