	♥ 10:50am Polyus: fwiw First Avenue is a total drag these days, they control the majority of other viable music venues in town and seem to work closely with Star Tribune and Minnesota Public Radio/The Current in a way that would almost lead one to belive there are only about 15 bands in the Twin Cities area. Everyone else is left to kind of scrape to put on shows at whatever dump is available for however long. But that's just me.

Those days are long gone, although even old timers will admit that the club actually makes $ now, which it didn't used to as much. @chuck - this is true, unfortunately the really great little DIY spaces we had maybe 10-15 years ago have been lost to developers. I think this is happening everywhere though.

I remember thinking: "They were 25 years old the first time, now they are all 50, at this rate the next time I see them they will all be 75!". I was only about 10 years off. R.I.P. Andy Gill.

I think this is happening everywhere though.
