	♥ 8:34pm Krys O.: Hey, Mr. Fab. Upsala College stipulated that deejays attended at least one class. That rule eventually went away. I enrolled at Upsala without ANY knowledge of WFMU. They never mentioned the radio station in the tours. I actually did radio in high school at the local Greenwich, CT AM station with some other students. I met a student in the cafeteria who specifically went to Upsala in order to do a show. He introduced me to the station. I worked in the record library and was paid by the college. The rest is history.

The only way to own a thing you bought is to own it free and clear

	♥ 8:56pm Rich in Washington: I often go for the physical format, especially when it's actually less expensive or close to the price of the download only option. Like for example the Chrome box set or Feedtime box set, which was cheaper than the download option and you get the downloads too.

Someone put them on Soundcloud or some similar place, but apparently it was rips of a mixtape Fahey made for someone who worked at a Portland record store and they're pretty goddamn cray cray. A lot of his own music on it but also really bizarre.

	♥ 9:49pm Rich in Washington: it's pretty ludicrous getting sad about bands 'breaking up' these days ('breaking up' is just a stage of a band's monetization process - they'll get together again for a wheelbarrow of cash to play for the rich kids of the festival circuit) but SY breaking up means we'll likely never hear anything as 'experimental' sounding from these individuals again. Sad.

	9:59pm Mr Fab: Glad I got to see em, at a small club, right up front. And hung a bit with Thurstin and Kim at the old Rhino Records store circa 1984 or 85. I had bought “Bad Moon Rising” and really liked it but I don’t think they were too well known at that point. Nice folks.Kim told me that she didn’t like “Bad Moon Rising”’s dark, atmospheric production- exactly what i DID like about it! I noticed that their sound was usually brighter / more clear after that.

I always thought people reacted to them as being much farther out than they were at that point. I mean they were never presented as crazy as Sun City Girls or anything.

Bewitched and STP (NOT Stone Temple Pilots) opened and I remember that latter band seeming visibly unprepared for the escalation. Bewitched were great, kind of lost band of that scene.

	♥ 8:34pm Krys O.: Hey, Mr. Fab. Upsala College stipulated that deejays attended at least one class. That rule eventually went away. I enrolled at Upsala without ANY knowledge of WFMU. They never mentioned the radio station in the tours. I actually did radio in high school at the local Greenwich, CT AM station with some other students. I met a student in the cafeteria who specifically went to Upsala in order to do a show. He introduced me to the station. I worked in the record library and was paid by the college. The rest is history.

A lot of his own music on it but also really bizarre.

I had bought “Bad Moon Rising” and really liked it but I don’t think they were too well known at that point. Nice folks.Kim told me that she didn’t like “Bad Moon Rising”’s dark, atmospheric production- exactly what i DID like about it! I noticed that their sound was usually brighter / more clear after that.
