Let my people OUT. Jazz version of this?

Go down Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
When Israel was in Egypt land
Let my people go!
Oppressed so hard they could not stand
Let my people go!
So the God said: go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
So moses went to Egypt land
Let my people go!
He made all pharaoes understand
Let my people go!
Yes the lord said: go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
Thus spoke the lord, bold Moses said:
-let my people go!
if not I'll smite, your firstborn's dead
-let my people go!
God-the lord said : go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
Tell all pharaoes
To let my people go

Cadillac needs to reissue that Jazz Doctors recording on bandcamp. This Pavone recording is beautiful.
Avatar 🥁 11:01am

@DJpeter, I'm really glad to hear you say that, because the studio portion of the disc sounded to me like they were awoken at 7 am after a late-night set in the club and then got through the no-energy recording session as quickly as possible.

@LG agreed, it was perfunctory. They must not have felt that it was going to be issued or they would have risen to the occasion. Given that many of these newly released recordings would not have gotten the artist’s approval at the time… maybe there’s a hierarchy: artist approved at the time, artist approved later, artist approved in context of box set, family approved, unapproved….
