Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:03pm Julie:

  7:05pm Scobot:

Love this! Album is divine.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Julie:

hiya scobot!
  7:06pm Scobot:

Evening, Julie.
Avatar 🦇 7:07pm ParUbi:

Hi!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Julie:

hiya ParUbi!
Avatar 7:08pm Roberto:

Wow, Dark Night of the Jazz Hands!
Avatar 7:08pm TonyR:

Dark nights now! Dark nights forever! (But throw in some Ethel Merman. Can't hurt.)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Julie:

howdy Roberto!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Julie:

heya TonyR No Ethel I'm afraid but I've got at least one Broadway legend lined up tonight!
Avatar 7:09pm Roberto:

She's a widow
All in red
With his red
Still wet
Avatar 7:10pm Roberto:

RUDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Avatar 7:11pm Listener Gregory:

It's only twilight of the soul here. Maybe in 20 minutes the dark night will start.
Avatar 7:12pm TonyR:

Kate Bush get your gun!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:12pm Julie:

yes here too, it is merely dim
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:12pm Julie:

hiya Gregory!
Avatar 7:13pm Listener Gregory:

Hello, Julie and other creatures of darkness.
Avatar 7:17pm Listener Gregory:

You hardly ever see the word "abattoir" used in the US. Sad.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Julie:

it's too fancy a word for what it means
Avatar 7:31pm Roberto:

Julie, I know you know I was looking for job, but did you know I found a job?
Avatar 7:31pm Listener Gregory:

It's always a good idea to hide disturbing concepts behind a French accent.
Avatar 7:31pm Roberto:

And heaven knows I'm slightly miserable now.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Julie:

Roberto I did not! Congratulations on rejoining the rat race
Avatar 7:32pm Listener Gregory:

I know I am the only person who considers this his theme song.
Avatar 7:32pm Roberto:

Which is my baseline. So it's a win-win!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Julie:

@Gregory escargot
Avatar 7:32pm Roberto:

I'm not nearly as miserable as this CD.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Julie:

Ugh sorry about that skipping...
Avatar 7:35pm Listener Gregory:

I honestly thought it was a remix of some kind. You shouldn't have said anything.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Julie:

hahaha it could've been much worse eh
  7:36pm KWilde:

Julie!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Julie:

well in case you had any doubt that I was live! Hiya KWilde!
  7:37pm Scobot:

I never tire of Neil Diamond.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:39pm Julie:

I listened to him when I was little but that song made me want to explore that particular era
Avatar 🦇 7:39pm ParUbi:

Everyone somehow had to hate Neil Diamond in the 80s… am I remembering that right?
  7:40pm Scobot:

I can do without “Forever in Blue Jeans.”
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:40pm Julie:

FAR WE BEEN TRAVELING FAR!
  7:41pm Scobot:

HA!
  7:42pm Scobot:

I did, ParUbi
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Julie:

I'm so high it makes my brain whirl
Avatar 7:44pm Listener Gregory:

@ParUbi, I enjoyed some of his earlier pop tunes (I was there at the time), but then he began to get super earnest in his own performances.
  7:44pm Scobot:

Never knew MCH covered this.
Avatar 7:44pm Listener Gregory:

The Bowie imitation here is a bit unnerving.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Julie:

he was in Bowie's play Lazarus
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Julie:

playing the man who fell to earth
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Julie:

I saw it at least twice..perhaps three times..I forget. It made no sense but they were great as was the music.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Julie:

oh dear I think that girl is standing in an abattoir
  7:46pm Scobot:

Ashamed I didn’t know that.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Julie:

they actually showed it on demand in 2020 I think it was... london cast, most actors the same except the main woman
Avatar 🦇 7:49pm ParUbi:

English Motorway System is new to me
Avatar 🦇 7:49pm ParUbi:

Love it
  7:51pm miles of middle texas:

Hey there Julie. Hi all. Friday!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Julie:

hiya Miles! @ParUbi yeah that band never broke here but I love everything by them!
Avatar 8:01pm HyperDose:

Another Julie fill-in. Boy are we spoiled!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Julie:

haha hiya HD! And more coming! it's gonna be a crazy week.
Avatar 8:02pm TonyR:

HyperDose is not wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm doctorjazz:

Jennifer Warnes, wow!
Avatar 8:03pm TonyR:

Uhura Sings!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:04pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Julie and dark acid-washed jeans! 👖
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:04pm Julie:

hiya Ken!
Avatar 8:06pm TonyR:

Also Nichelle: "And those two b*these who left better learn to sell pussy in Iceland."
Avatar 8:07pm Listener Gregory:

Jennifer Warnes’s Famous Blue Raincoat is an excellent album, which I have just now broken out to listen to for the first time in a few years.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:07pm Julie:

Gregory that's the only one I had for ages, then I found her 60s stuff and it's so good!
Avatar 8:08pm Listener Gregory:

Thanks for telling/reminding me!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:08pm Julie:

yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Hello darlings, sorry I'm late, had to color my hair!
Avatar 8:09pm HyperDose:

Evan Wood sings? Who knew. Her rep is about to take a big hit after what she pulled with Manson. Her and Amber Heard are through.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Julie:

hiya SC Lizzie! What color is it now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Sweet Corn Lizzie:

It's teal blue again - fades after 6 weeks or so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm doctorjazz:

I haven't listened to Famous Blue Raincoat in eons! It's also highly rated for sound quality. For a while, in my geeky audiophile days, I'd go to audio shows, and every vendor was playing Famous Blue Raincoat or Paul Simon's Graceland, made them hard to listen to for a while...
Avatar 8:11pm TonyR:

Tonight's theme: Not the Original Cast.
Avatar 8:12pm HyperDose:

Are you saying those geeky audiophile days are numbered, doc? Say it ain't so!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:12pm Julie:

SC Lizzie oh I bet it's gorgeous! I used to have a bit of blue and purple in mine. I can't do it on my own and too hard to maintain during pandemic.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:14pm Julie:

I tried pink once too but man it turned grey then green..UGH
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm doctorjazz:

Have no fear, HyperDose, still a geeky audiophile, but not as actively so...
Avatar 8:16pm HyperDose:

Any background on that Floyd pic, Julie? Has to be Christmas, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm Sweet Corn Lizzie:

Thanks Julie! I use Colorista and it's easy, you don't need to bleach. I put it on all over like conditioner. I was still coloring my hair "golden brown" (color like sun) when I started doing this and it shows up really well.
I saw someone today with long black hair that was red on the ends - beautiful.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:16pm Julie:

probably! I just thought it was funny.
Avatar 8:18pm Listener Gregory:

Hey, @doctorj, I have some speakers that seem broken (crackly, audibly distorted). Any idea on how to find someone who might repair them? Or are those days gone?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Julie:

Mine is red with black underneath. I can't have just one apparently
Avatar 🦇 8:22pm ParUbi:

Aww your 🐦
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm doctorjazz:

LG, check with an audio dealer in the area, someone they do repair (and sometimes not). What make speakers are they? Some manufacturers keep parts for older equipment and may even repair. (Depending on the problem, it might just be worth getting new ones. Replacing drivers can be $1-200 each of they need replacing. Sometimes the rubber around the fingers becomes stuff and needs replacing-that's a smaller job).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm doctorjazz:

(If they're not expensive speakers, it's likely not worth repairing them, but no harm checking with an audio dealer; if they don't do repairs, they likely know someone that does).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm doctorjazz:

Gotta run, thanks, Julie!
Avatar 8:33pm Listener Gregory:

Thanks, @doctorj. “Audio dealers” are increasingly a rare breed, but I do have a few I can check with.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Julie:

thanks doctor jazz have a great weekend!
Avatar 8:34pm Listener Gregory:

The Bowie imitations continue!
Avatar 8:35pm HyperDose:

That Dana song was sing songy and fun!
  8:36pm Steve S:

The Man in black belongs on a Dark Night!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:36pm Julie:

the Dana record is being reissued for RSD (it's really hard to find the original). It's on my short list not that I'm going out tomorrow
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:39pm Julie:

hiya Steve! I like him but he can be way more country that I'd like. Still I find nice little gems, particularly the later stuff
Avatar 8:41pm Listener Gregory:

NB: I have never been mellow.
Also, I will opine that Johnny Cash country music is great country music. IMHO
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:41pm Julie:

oh it's for sure better than contemporary country
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:43pm Julie:

I also like Hank Williams at times. Just never in the mood for it when I do my show
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:44pm Julie:

these days I am more mellow than I am physical
Avatar 8:45pm HyperDose:

THOSE CHOPS
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:46pm Julie:

gotta make up for the hair going away up top
Avatar 8:49pm HyperDose:

Ahh shots fired haha
Avatar 8:58pm HyperDose:

Thank you so much, Julie!
Avatar 8:58pm Listener Gregory:

Very enjoyable show, Julie! I laughed, I cried, and most importantly, I learned something. Thanks a lot!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 8:58pm Julie:

thanks so much everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm solo mon:

Thanks Julie- loooooove Patti!!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Julie:
