	11:29am Bob Brainen: WR, yes and that may have been the first. IIRC, Rosza did Hitch's music but they had a falling out when Rosza composed for other films (?) Dr. Samuel Hoffman is the player in both films.

	12:32pm Franco Twinkie: WR, The enchiladas in the Cooder picture are two shrimp with a chicken mole tucked in the middle. This restaurant is within walking distance from my house, right across the street from the San Gabriel Mission, where I was baptized so many years ago.

	12:51pm Franco Twinkie: WR, about a week before I met Chresti in 1982, I started having a short lived affair with a girl who lived in San Francisco. One afternoon she took me to lunch at a Mexican restaurant on 24th Street in The Mission. She introduced me to crab enchiladas. My life was turned upside down.
	12:53pm WR: My kids tell me to stop buying music, listen to it from youtube or whatever. They even told me not to send them CDs or DVDs, but to please just provide a link. but I have experienced that the internet giveth and the internet taketh away when you least expect it. On the other hand, they don't have storage space issues.
	1:20pm adamdoesit: Franco, I guess chresti turned it right side up again? WR, maybe your kids have a point. No one really owns music (other than, one hopes, the musicians who make it). Yet somehow I keep trying. Chasing the dragon, I suppose.
	1:25pm Franco Twinkie: Day of the Triffids is such a peculiar movie. The basic concept was walking plants that looked like large stalks of marijuana terrorized people who live in a light house. First, they try to scare them away with music from the speaker on the top of an ice cream truck, and when that failed some genius figured out if you squirt them with sea water they'd fall over and die. I would watch this on TV when I was kid, perplexed and excited at the same time.
	1:32pm doctorjazz: My girls don't do "solid media", it's mostly Spotify, sometimes YouTube. Me, I love my LPs and CDs (LPs most, though they've gotten much more expensive since they became hip). Love the sound of them, the art work, the liner notes... Had a TIDAL subscription, hardly used it, dropped it. Have the free Spotify, hardly use it either.
	1:33pm WR: The movie title "Day of the Triffids" always stuck with me but don't remember if I ever saw it. Even with your summary Franco. Will have to take a look. Now we are hearing the University of Professor Jelly Roll Morton.

	1:38pm Franco Twinkie: Doc, we're old guys. With obsessions that refuse to die I'm afraid. Kids will always be kids. Some day these kids will be old people too, God willing. I suspect they'll feel marginalized by what ever junk dominates the cultural landscape at that moment, as we are now.

	1:46pm Franco Twinkie: Chresti is in an Francisco right now. Last night she was describing her day to me. She said the street is overrun by tech bros. marching around like they own the place, and I suppose they do. At one time that was us. But of course they're idea of pop culture is probably total crap. They know about computers, but are woefully deficient in what makes good music. I say this with complete conviction.
	1:49pm StringOFperils: Don't sweat the automatons. Be glad you don't have to share the narrow, super-heated, foodless, plastic tunnel with them for another 60 years.

	12:51pm Franco Twinkie: WR, about a week before I met Chresti in 1982, I started having a short lived affair with a girl who lived in San Francisco. One afternoon she took me to lunch at a Mexican restaurant on 24th Street in The Mission. She introduced me to crab enchiladas. My life was turned upside down.
	12:53pm WR: My kids tell me to stop buying music, listen to it from youtube or whatever. They even told me not to send them CDs or DVDs, but to please just provide a link. but I have experienced that the internet giveth and the internet taketh away when you least expect it. On the other hand, they don't have storage space issues.
	1:20pm adamdoesit: Franco, I guess chresti turned it right side up again? WR, maybe your kids have a point. No one really owns music (other than, one hopes, the musicians who make it). Yet somehow I keep trying. Chasing the dragon, I suppose.
	1:25pm Franco Twinkie: Day of the Triffids is such a peculiar movie. The basic concept was walking plants that looked like large stalks of marijuana terrorized people who live in a light house. First, they try to scare them away with music from the speaker on the top of an ice cream truck, and when that failed some genius figured out if you squirt them with sea water they'd fall over and die. I would watch this on TV when I was kid, perplexed and excited at the same time.
	1:32pm doctorjazz: My girls don't do "solid media", it's mostly Spotify, sometimes YouTube. Me, I love my LPs and CDs (LPs most, though they've gotten much more expensive since they became hip). Love the sound of them, the art work, the liner notes... Had a TIDAL subscription, hardly used it, dropped it. Have the free Spotify, hardly use it either.
