	11:16am Jeff: I think I might’ve mentioned this before, but just in case…In the beginning of 1974, I took a semester off from college and got a job at Sam Goody’s on 6 Ave (near Radio City). I used to spend my lunch hour hangin’ on the corner checking out Moondog. He dressed like a Viking and had piles of manuscripts and sheet music on the street.

I just thought your listeners would more easily recognize Rufus. Personally, I prefer the music of Loudon III and the McGarrigle sisters.. Please play more of the whole Wainwright family in the future!

	11:28am Jeff: I just watched the David Geffen doc that was done for PBS a while ago. I’ve always been ambivalent about him, but I know realize how hurt he was when Laura didn’t sign with Asylum and stayed with Columbia. I love Laura, but she did betray him. I still love her anyway and don’t even like Geffen. But, he was there for her (all the way) in the beginning. He adored her and knew what a singular talent she was.

	11:39am Bob Brainen: Gina, I shazam movies, tv shows, commercials, in supermarkets,in ubers, on the street,etc. Anywhere there's sounds and I wanna know what they are. Hell, sometimes I wanna know what that song is that's annoying me! I also use Sound Hound.
	11:42am Bob Brainen: adamdoesit, interesting show. Music choices are really well done. One episode had a character singing one of my favorite Judee Sill songs and it ended w/a 2nd song by Sill. Plus Moondog, & more.
	11:44am Gerry from Miami: I just did an Internet search because I could swear that Laura Nyro's "Save the Country" was featured on the soundtrack of "Mr. Holland's Opus" with Richard Dreyfuss. My memory is that he actually plays the record for his kids. Is my memory accurate or am I losing it? The song is NOT on the OST album, but 12 other pop tunes are.

There's a Julie Andrews recording I've been coming back to lately whenever the news gets too bad to bear. Rebecca Luker's performance on PBS, too....I heard a story about Rosemary Clooney's recording the song as a swing tune. Rodgers heard and hated it, saying, "It's a _waltz_. If she wanted to f*** up a song, why didn't she ruin 'Silent Night'?"
	1:13pm Gerry from Miami: I loved Phil Ochs! Got me through my last two years of college. Really into his protest and anti-war songs. Great production on his recordings. Another one taken too young. His brother Michael may have had the finest photo collection of pop, rock, folk and jazz artists ever assembled, the Michael Ochs Archives.

	1:34pm dan: I wonder how popular Fleetwood Mac would’ve been if the intermediate lineup of Fleetwood, Welch and the McVies lasted throughout the 70s.

	1:42pm Dean: Damn, Big Jay McNeely. Before his comeback in the '80s (or was it '90s?), he used to play a dive in Santa Fe Springs, CA, when he was a postal delivery guy. We'd head there weekends and revel in the noise. He accepted tips in the bell of his saxophone as he walked from table to table (and sometimes on them). My buddies even got to sit in with him one night. Next thing we know he's playing the Roundhouse in London!

	1:45pm Dean: Wish I could remember who played organ for him. She was knockout. One night Big Jay announced that it was the birthday of another horn player in the band, a transvestite whose mom was there to celebrate. The crowd went wild.

There's a Julie Andrews recording I've been coming back to lately whenever the news gets too bad to bear. Rebecca Luker's performance on PBS, too....I heard a story about Rosemary Clooney's recording the song as a swing tune. Rodgers heard and hated it, saying, "It's a _waltz_. If she wanted to f*** up a song, why didn't she ruin 'Silent Night'?"

His brother Michael may have had the finest photo collection of pop, rock, folk and jazz artists ever assembled, the Michael Ochs Archives.

	1:42pm Dean: Damn, Big Jay McNeely. Before his comeback in the '80s (or was it '90s?), he used to play a dive in Santa Fe Springs, CA, when he was a postal delivery guy. We'd head there weekends and revel in the noise. He accepted tips in the bell of his saxophone as he walked from table to table (and sometimes on them). My buddies even got to sit in with him one night. Next thing we know he's playing the Roundhouse in London!
