Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
It was an especially fine May afternoon in his small NorthEastern providence in that HyperBorean region of the People's PostApocalyptic Confederation of DemocraticSocialist Technocracies ...yes, the Economic Plan of the New Century had resolved most societal injustices - & what now seemed the Medieval reactionary structures & policies of the old century seemed ever more remote & receding... But the Climate Crisis had just been accelerated by the brutal & bitter conflagrations of the Great Conflicts ...& he knew this intemperate blue sky before even Memorial Day was a kind of Fool'S Paradise ...indeed, it was somewhat his 'Job' (to use the quaint but persistent old-fashioned terminology) tp monitor these grave matters...
He contentiously & gracefully if automatically (from long practice) adjusted the feeds that streamed the Culture & Entertainments content directly into his very skin & consciousness ...sipped his generous ration of simple but delicious greentea ..& sighed @ the cerulean scene & greening treebuds out the portal of his council domicile...

So much for 'Rawk'n'Roll Time' ...NYC & CBGBs ...a side effect of pandemic times I presume?
I can see with eight acts you run a stopwatch...

Ken, thanks for asking! My coworker's cabin north of Santa Fe is surrounded but not engulfed. This is near Mora, NM. I live in Albuquerque so I am relatively safe from fire but maybe not smoke if the fires get closer. I work in the East Mountains (Monzano Mts) in southern Tijeras NM and no fires here so far.

Just spent some days in Las Cruces & Silver City. Didn't make it up to ABQ but it was a nice reminder that Out There still exists.

Flagstaff has some insanely expensive houses, you are not the first to notice it. I think 500k is normal.

Also yes. Having mountains handy is incredible. Hate PHX with a passion, it's got no soul, no funk, no sass. Tucson had all that; less so now, but still does a bit.
