Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sounds like a theme to a Musical - very RockyHorror or something...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Julie:

well I hope you can relax for a little while now, Cs! Heya RW & Rev Rabbit.. This album in particular has some unusual moments. quite different from the first.

Avatar 10:07pm C.S.:

Thanx, Julie. I've enjoyed all those archives of yours but free time is so scarce nowadays it's sometimes a challenge to find the time.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...like a high-end version of an iTunes Visualization...
Avatar 10:08pm C.S.:

Liking the video. I have a friend who does glitch art which is in the same vein.
  10:08pm Robm:

@Julie your welcome
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:10pm Julie:

@CS I have a sunday night show now too maybe you can make one of those!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:11pm Julie:

people who can make visuals like those really impress me
  10:11pm rw:

The music is nice, I like the visuals, the company is first rate, and my dog has gas.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm northguineahills:

I had no idea Suzi Quatro was recording back in the 70s, I only know her work from the 90s forward....
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:14pm Julie:

NGH She goes back to the sixties! She was in a band called the Pleasure Seekers
Avatar 10:14pm C.S.:

Sadly my knowledge of Suzi Quatro was limited to Happy Days.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh yeah she was all kinds of a GlamStomper !
  10:15pm Robm:

@NGH watch a documentary about suzi called suzi q
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:15pm Aitch:

rockin Susiei Q in 4th grade, 1974 Devilgate Drive
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Aitch:

Huuuuge in Australia
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Julie:

Happy Days was the first exposure to many Americans, Europe and Japan knew her well though!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:16pm Julie:

yes! She plays australia but doesn't come here (SNIFF)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:17pm Julie:

oooh those leafy things in the video are purty
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:17pm Aitch:

Blondie had first #1 in Australia, we love your stuff more than you do
  10:17pm rw:

I knew of Suzi before Happy Days for sure, but I'm not sure why. Probably Rodney on the Roq.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Think Suzi should team up with JoanJett ...if there's a stage bigenuff for both of 'em...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm StringOFpeHirils:

I remember her showing up in my world around the same time as The Runaways.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Julie:

without Suzi there would not be Joan as we know her. That's her idol
  10:18pm Robm:

@RRN63 suzi insiped joan jett
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Julie:

she even copied her haircut. Alas, she got MUCH more success here than suzi ever did. People weren't ready for Suzi yet, Joan came at the right time I guess.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Space - the final frontier'
...sounded like...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:19pm Julie:

oh hi String!
  10:19pm rw:

Was Joan Jett on TV too?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm StringOFpeHirils:

Hi Julie. You sure do a lot of radio!
  10:20pm Robm:

Also suzie inspired tina wouymoth from the talking heads
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Julie:

no but at the right time for MTV
  10:20pm rw:

I mean, besides MTV
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm northguineahills:

I've seen Suzi at some small intimate venues, before.....
  10:20pm rw:

I mean, besides MTV
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Aitch:

Suzi and AC/DC would get played on the same TV shows here at the time.
Runaways were a bit later gave all the kids a heart attack
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Julie:

I saw the one movie Joan did with Michael J Fox, that was ....interesting. But she wasn't a TV star.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

So maybe they *would* get along well enuff to play together !...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Aitch:

Mid+ 70's
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:21pm Julie:

NGH Lucky you! I got to see her one time in London for a BBC radio broadcast. Amazing show. Almost 10 years ago now.
  10:21pm rw:

Oops. Sorry, must have hit the button twice.
  10:22pm Robm:

@RRN63 why suzi is not in the RRHOF is almost criminal
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

HBDs PeteTownshend & JoeyRamone
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

RRHOF is an absurdity - tho the Museum has some good things...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm northguineahills:

I used to randomly end up in small intimate venues and see artists I wasn't too familiar w/ at the time...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:24pm Julie:

it really is, is there stuff actually there?
  10:24pm rw:

I do remember it seeming surprisingly progressive to have SQ on Happy Days.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...more AwardShow bullshit. That's HighSchool crap...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:25pm Julie:

I think she told me when I interviewed her she got the part the same day that Elvis (HER idol) died.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:25pm Julie:

She even went on a date with Ralph Malph and she wore a dress!
  10:26pm Robm:

@RRN63 agree with you there about that, depends on who is kissing jann wenners ass at the time
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Very PeterGabriel this Hitmen seems...
  10:26pm rw:

Ha! Nice. That's cool you had a chance to interview her.
  10:27pm rf:

Sounds good thanks DJJ! This song is making me need to listen to "The Time Is Now" by Naked Eyes.
  10:27pm Robm:

@Julie would love to hear that interview with suzi
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Julie:

It's in the archives! Cherie Currie's in there too.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Julie:

although Cherie actually came to FMU, suzi was on the phone.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Aitch:

Saw The Hitmen a couple of times then-ish , working in the bar at the venue
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Julie:

we're talking way back...2012, 2013ish?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Think Todd-o-Phonic had SuziQ as well.
  10:29pm Robm:

Will look forward to listening to it then julie
  10:30pm rw:

I know it's a tired complaint but it makes me feel old when 2012 is way back.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Julie:

@Aitch that might be the Sydney Hitmen, I think the ones I played were the English ones
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Julie:

@rev I had her first :P holy crap there's fireworks outside
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm StringOFpeHirils:

I was listening to Suzi's brother Mike's stuff back in the 70s; it was all about the 'art rock' for me at the time...I liked synths a lot
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Julie:

happy thursday the 19th?
  10:31pm Robm:

@Julie is it scaring your birds?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...they're for Pete & Joey !...
Avatar 10:31pm C.S.:

Remember when the year 2000 was a far off and mysterious date?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:32pm Julie:

they don't usually react to that, but they're covered right now anyway.
Avatar 10:32pm C.S.:

I have to say "now" is so overrated.
  10:33pm Robm:

@Julie gotcha
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Husky I grew up with did not like fireworx - that's for sure. I love 'em - tho for PTSD people & animals & the environment they're all wrong... They *could* make quieter ones, far as that goes...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37pm northguineahills:

i can hear them....
Avatar 10:37pm C.S.:

I always liked Jenny Piccolo.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:39pm Julie:

she was played by Phil Silvers daughter if I remember right
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There are some really amazing things about 'Now' - but obviously some really messed up things. It's really disappointing to be this old & this far into the 21st Century & have this much Medieval thinking & behavior going on... I think it's simply that Homo sapiens is @ an evolutionary crossroads as all the Visionaries & Social Theorists have long said. I wish I had more faith in our species to step up to the challenges (climate change for instance)...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Julie:

man these graphics are pretty, I made a good choice!
  10:41pm Phillippe Bastille:

Juuuuulllllliiiiieeee!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Julie:

Phillippe!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You did !
[websearches] She looks like PhilSilvers !
Avatar 10:42pm C.S.:

"Now" is also mired in bland mainstream music, bland architecture and for me friends who just aren't really good friends.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:42pm Julie:

I remember it was HUGE when they cast her, because she'd just been unseen for years and years. Chuck, however, still missing.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:42pm Julie:

CS yeah I can relate to that for sure!
Avatar 10:43pm C.S.:

Julie...that mic break was so strange without hearing from your friends. Think I will play this in the background the next time: www.youtube.com...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Julie:

yeah radio after 10 in the living room has proved problematic, they get really loud and antsy past their bedtime.
Avatar 10:44pm C.S.:

Amazing how the little feathered ones have become such a part of your mic breaks.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

CS yes - I think our so-called leaders lack vision & quality fundamentally. Terence McKenna has influenced my thinking a lot here...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:45pm Julie:

@CS it's funny that you say that, I went back to the station to do shows for a bit and folks were like, we miss the birds!
  10:45pm Robm:

@Julie i think chuck is still up the stairs:)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:46pm Julie:

fan fiction where Chuck is a prepper agoraphobe, still in that bedroom in Milwaukee
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:47pm Julie:

you know who's cool? Henry Winkler! I adore him on twitter, seems like a genuinely good guy at least at this point in life

Gene Cousineau is a funny character, for sure.

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:48pm Will the Sound Guy:

I've been listening Julie, just came inside from working outside... diggin the tunes
  10:49pm Phillippe Bastille:

Henry was great in Arrested Development
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Julie:

hiya Will! He may have jumped the shark but at least they never did an episode where they all burst into song
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:50pm Julie:

sad that a film career eluded him, he was good in one and only and the other one he did
Avatar 10:51pm C.S.:

Did they ever do an evil twin Fonzie ep? Ha.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Mork...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Julie:

I think he IS the evil twin. Should have had identical nerd cousin or something
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:52pm Julie:

Yes Mork! That was pretty out there
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The 70s were a pretty awful 'Now' to be a little kid in often enuff tbh.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:53pm Julie:

the only bad thing I remember in the 70s was gas lines
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Think maybe we take a lot of social progress for granted.
Avatar 10:55pm C.S.:

Sesame Street...Sat. Morning cartoons...riding bikes...playing in the woods unafraid of things. Seemed pretty good to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm StringOFpeHirils:

The 70s seem like about three decades to me. So much change. Not nearly as much as the 60s, but close.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Julie:

I was annoyed that disco was long over by the time I was old enough to go out
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Julie:

you don't GET social progress when you're a child
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Julie:

but dammit the adults of the 70s ruined things because we ended up with AIDS and the war on drugs...
Avatar 10:57pm C.S.:

I do see a heck of a lot of young people at work with "social anxiety" and it makes me wonder if they are too wired to their phones.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm northguineahills:

Been awhile since I've listened to this Kendra Smith album....

@Julie: we just did disco parties in the 2000s, myself and plenty others djed some.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Julie:

I had social anxiety since I was a teen because of bullying, no cellphone needed
  10:59pm Dean:

All adults ruined things. Don't pick on the '70s.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:59pm Julie:

they are doing a roller disco thing at the rink in the park over the summer but damn I'd probably fall and hurt myself
Avatar 10:59pm C.S.:

But now it's so prevalent among kids who seem okay. Maybe it's a first world problem kind of thing.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 10:59pm Julie:

@Dean good point.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Truly a lot of things seem to be going into the toilet right now. Gun murder for instance.
Being my age - 58 - Disco seemed like our Depression or WWII. Live venues switched to Disco - there was nothing else on the Radio ever ...yer Dad wanted to be JohnTravolta. The jocks loved it. & it seemed to go on for years & years like it would never end. Sorry - it was absolutely horrible & traumatic. People see it as ironic & cute now. It was a horror & a blight.
  11:00pm katharsis:

Hello Julie and those of the dark night
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:01pm Julie:

hiya katharsis! yeah to the punk rockers who lived through it disco was hell. but to a little kid it seemed pretty cool .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm northguineahills:

my only exposure to disco at the time was from Sesame Street years after the fact....
  11:04pm dano59:

Maybe it was the drugs, RR63
  11:04pm Dean:

"to the punk rockers who lived through it disco was hell."

I disagree. Our ears were always tuned to new musics, including disco. I wasn't a huge fan, but I got a kick out of hearing the new releases...just not incessantly.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Julie:

I remember going to see Love at first bite and getting obsessed with "I love the night life" and requesting it on a radio station that was like NO we do NOT play disco
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:06pm Julie:

hiya dano!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:06pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Always say this - all the docs & analyses spin it that Punk was a reaction to Prog. To me - it was a reaction to Disco. Of course that was then & this is now. I see it differently in the present. Primarily - I think Disco was quite different in Urban & NotUrban environments. It was not about Queers, HardDrugUsers or People of Color where I was! Also - Disco had an Arc to it - as most things do. It started as one thing & became commercialized & exploited - & that was mostly what reached us. & by us I mean the friends I smoked dope with in HighSchool in Claremont, NewHampshire - pop. 15,000 north of northeast of nowhere...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:06pm Julie:

I think punk was more against the singer songwriter stuff that was happening
  11:07pm dano59:

Phones, the unreal communication space lacking nuance and inflection, and the attendant misconstruing and apprehension of texting may lead to the heightened anxiety.
I just roll with it because my social anxiety is real.
Avatar 11:08pm C.S.:

Different version from Broadcast. Never heard it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm northguineahills:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Julie:

it's been great for people (like me) who are shy in real life to use that to communicate. the problem starts when it's preferred to RL communication. Although during covid, it has been essential. Hiya Scott! This is a collection live on BBC stuff, CS
  11:09pm dano59:

Punk was a reaction to every bloated rocker sellout from Elvis to Ozzy, I thought - not just to the bland stuff.
NO FUTURE
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Julie:

it's kinda beautiful isn't it...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- or - a reaction to the first huge wave of Rawk becoming an established & truly mass market into the 1970s & becoming diluted. Too much ShowBiz. Which had happened in that bit between Elvis going into the Army & TheBeates arriving in the USA before...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:10pm Julie:

By the time I was old enough punk was...hardcore
  11:10pm Dean:

I don't think punk was all that reactionary. It was an affirmative expression of true creativity. By punk I mean roughly '76 to '79. The later stuff is not on my radar at all.
Avatar 11:10pm C.S.:

For me the pandemic cut me off from people even with social media available. But other people in my life made new connections and freinds.
Avatar 11:11pm C.S.:

That was the first song I ever heard from Broadcast. Still remember it fondly. RIP Trish Keenan

I remember I was starting to date some woman and she wanted to go to a disco club, and since I thought I might like her I went, and when we got there they were playing Blondie and I was like “what the fuck?”
  11:12pm dano59:

Broadcast is always so great. Was listening to their covers of Thirteen recently
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Julie:

I'm pretty sure the news about Trish came when I was doing my late night show, Poly Styrene also if I remember right.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Julie:

Blondie's disco song broke them! and then they rapped. They really did it all.
  11:14pm Dean:

My point is partly that I don't ever recall punks hating on prog rock or anything else. More likely we embraced it all. Shoot, we were just folks who liked music.
  11:14pm dano59:

The pandemic really messed with my usual self- isolationist tendencies somehow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm Scott67:

Floyd version!🍻😎🤙
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I posit the term Internetrovert...
I've always been a Mediahead - so the gushing firehose of the Interwebz - I love the access. Like right here ! Social Media is a completely new thing for Society tho of course. facebook felt like moving to a new town & standing nekkid in the Square. The ways it connects us powerfully & yet connects us *not @ all* is quite strange. Like participating in people's mental health crises in real time @ great distances. Medium of course is the Massage...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Julie:

it has been...A LOT. None of us have come out unscathed, anyone who has must have something very wrong
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Julie:

I used to play this a LOT then someone emailed and told me to stop
  11:18pm dano59:

1979 was like the linchpin year for all those forms cresting / morphing/ ascendant and fading. Punk to post punk/New Wave-retro pop; post-Pub Rock; the 70s schlock overstaying it’s welcome.
Saw Joe Jackson last night. Really brought us all back.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Quite ! Pandemic hit - I'm like - it's about Isolation ?! I'm an Introvert ! I got this ! ...Thing about that is - otoh - has been exactly the *wrong* thing for that condition in some respects. Like - I am *too* good @ Isolating it has turned out. To be frank.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Julie:

wow Joe! I saw him in...1990 maybe? Whenever Blaze of Glory was out
  11:20pm dano59:

Glad I’m not the only one, Julie/RR
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Julie:

@Rev I feel like I am too. I really miss being social and yet I probably do better without it than many I know
  11:20pm dano59:

‘89. He did the title track
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Julie:

I got very envious of those who do not live alone but then I remember they kinda got stuck with their partners & roomies for 24/7 in many cases
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Julie:

That was a great show, just whole album straight through, like a story. I hadn't even heard it before.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Aside from just not wanting bloodclots from longterm Covid from some schmuck won't wear a mask out there, of course. Cause ...that.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:22pm Aitch:

I've worked from a home office for about 20 years so the Covid isolating was when other people found it was way better that way.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

BUT - the mantra :
...BACK to NORMAL.
  11:23pm dano59:

I initially thought those couples I knew were lucky to be together for this but I saw at least five friends’/coworkers’ marriages & LTRs fall apart. Ouch.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:23pm Aitch:

and there are these marvellous people who'll curate your soundtrack while you're at it
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:23pm Julie:

yep I saw a couple marriages break up. I also saw people meet AND get married during. I dunno how they did that
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Aitch:

My ex hated the home office because it was a bad way to meet people.
  11:24pm dano59:

Oh yeah, Blaze of Glory is a novella! I think Laughter & Lust is too. I love JJ
Avatar 11:25pm C.S.:

I just remember friends calling to wish you a happy birthday. I had friends who had been college radio DJs. I'd just call into their shows and we hit it off and later met in real life. Now I have to pull teeth to get a real life meeting and bribe with with paying for dinner.
  11:25pm rw:

Seems like there's always something. I'm not sure what NORMAL should feel like. It all feels weirdly normal to me. That said, it HAS been abnormally trying in so many ways this past few years.
  11:26pm Phillippe Bastille:

Pretty much an introvert here too. When we moved here It wasn’t long before Covid, and it was not long after I quit drinking, so my world got totally flipped — in a place where I didn’t know anyone, forced isolation cuz of the Covid, and then when stuff opened up, no liquor to chase away the social anxiety to meet new people. But the fishing’s pretty good
Avatar 11:26pm C.S.:

Boston also got rid of their trolley buses a few months ago. Sad to see them go. Used to love riding them.
  11:27pm dano59:

Vangelis’ Antarctica soundtrack is wonderful. The movie made me cry. He did Gallipoli too?
  11:28pm rw:

And I'm with Aitch. Incredibly grateful for all you marvelous people out there.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Ferinstance - we've been thru *that*
...& are still essentially no closer to a reasonable Health Care System. It doesn't give one hope for this Society.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:28pm Aitch:

Gallipoli was JM Jarre
Avatar 11:30pm C.S.:

Vangelis did the Bounty I think.
  11:30pm dano59:

Jarre … really? I had 2 of his albums.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:31pm Aitch:

We've got one, so not like it's not possible RR63.
The world doesn't fall down if you look after people's health, quite the contrary.
The USA?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The USA is too profit driven to be so humane.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Julie:

Covid KILLED ride shares. Which makes it a lot more expensive to get anywhere in the city if you don't wanna be in a crowd.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Aitch:

anyone who tries to mess that up here gets booted
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Julie:

@REV you nailed it there.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Julie:

@CS You are in Boston? Why did I think you were in TX
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...which, ironically, is financially utterly unsound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm northguineahills:

A lot of people here got Covid in the last few weeks, b/c they did not get vaxxed, and it's not the homeless we serve (I'll let you fill in the blanks).
Avatar 11:35pm C.S.:

Not sure. My avatar is an old Boston PCC trolley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm northguineahills:

so, I'm stuck doing the work of four people the last week....
  11:35pm dano59:

Back to punk - my little upstate city was about 2 years behind the curve, we had a couple good punk & new wave bands though. I always wondered where all the people with the spiked hair, safety pins and ripped T-shirts were every other night of the week
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:36pm Julie:

They are small on my screen I can't always tell what they are until I click them.
Avatar 11:36pm C.S.:

It's okay, Julie. Most people wouldn't be able to tell it's a Boston trolley car anyway.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:36pm Julie:

I like that there are still punks. Like there will always be punks like there will always be hippies.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I like that about Tars ! Often look like something else @ this scale ...has to be a word for that...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Julie:

UGH NGH that sucks
Avatar 11:37pm C.S.:

there will always be goths too. I hope.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:37pm Julie:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:38pm Julie:

  11:38pm dano59:

Well Hot Topic survives, so yea go goths
Avatar 11:38pm C.S.:

A computer generated punk made it into some new commercial for a medicine. Saw it on TV a few weeks ago.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:39pm Julie:

no real goth goes to hot topic
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

That's PostModernism. Pick & choose anything - but none of it is worth writing your Manifesto about to live or die by - as under Modernism. It's just some pastiche of styles...

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:40pm Julie:

one thing about joan and her jet black hair she was rocker/punk/goth all at the same time
  11:41pm Dean:

I'm not gonna let you get away with it again, RevRab. We are still hardcore modernists, no question. The idea of postmodernism is a distraction.

I was being facetious. I’ve been hanging with pagans the last 10 years or so, a little crossover with goth culture
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Julie:

Indeed... Inkubus Sukkubus are a pagan goth band
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Julie:

I want to hang out with pagans, where can I find them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Franco Twinkie:

Julie, and sometimes you get a hippie punk - punk hippie...like myself. Can I get s witness?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

How many Purists of any SubGenre does anybody really know ??
  11:42pm Dean:

Why does nobody on WFMU play Kommunity FK? You want punk? Goth? Pagan?
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:44pm Julie:

I thought I had! I think I have some, I will try next week
  11:44pm dano59:

Brushwood in Sherman, all the way at the other end of New York. Maybe 7 hours from NYC. Clothing optional. I’ve played Kinks songs at Bardic Circles there.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:44pm Julie:

@franco I've always considered myself a hippie goth. the flowers are just black I guess.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Julie:

what is a Bardic Circle? Outside open mic?
  11:46pm dano59:

Yes like an open mic - readings from memory, music, spoken word.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sometimes call myself Long-Haired Punk.
Feel like I'm the Punk among Hippies - & the Hippie when amongst Punks... But I'm so many things besides. & not qualified as much of anything...

It’s a goth hippie punk mall freak out
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Julie:

  11:48pm katharsis:

Not the bardic circle. I mean generally what I’m feeling like now
Avatar 11:48pm C.S.:

I'm a.......hmmm. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:48pm Julie:

oh! that's good too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm Franco Twinkie:

Julie, all those identifiers were only as good as the pulp paper they were printed on, which looking backwards, wasn't any good at all.
  11:48pm dano59:

Man I love Mazzy Star. That’s the only one I have on vinyl.
Avatar 11:49pm C.S.:

goth friendly? I wear a lot of dark blue.

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:50pm Julie:

Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:50pm Julie:

there is a guy I follow on twitter called Cocteau Twink and damn that's a great name
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:51pm Julie:

I recently pinpointed this song as planting little goth seeds in me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm northguineahills:

I used wear a colorful garb in NYC. Now in FL, I wear blacks and midnight blues....
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 11:51pm Julie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52pm Franco Twinkie:

Hope Sandoval went to high school a couple of miles from here. I understand she had a very difficult time there. I wonder if she even bothers to call herself anything except a brilliant singer.
  11:52pm dano59:

Labels are odious, Franco. Why can’t we just BE?
Avatar 11:53pm C.S.:

I'm still on the hunt for a Hawaiian shirt that fits in with my goth sensibilities.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm northguineahills:

Nice, Rev Rabbit jajaja
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm Franco Twinkie:

Julie, organic cherries. I don't eat that other shit.
  11:54pm dano59:

Jean Cocteau and the singer Twink? I can see the gig posters now
Avatar 11:54pm C.S.:
