Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Ok guys going to bed
@Julie: we just did disco parties in the 2000s, myself and plenty others djed some.
Being my age - 58 - Disco seemed like our Depression or WWII. Live venues switched to Disco - there was nothing else on the Radio ever ...yer Dad wanted to be JohnTravolta. The jocks loved it. & it seemed to go on for years & years like it would never end. Sorry - it was absolutely horrible & traumatic. People see it as ironic & cute now. It was a horror & a blight.
I disagree. Our ears were always tuned to new musics, including disco. I wasn't a huge fan, but I got a kick out of hearing the new releases...just not incessantly.
I just roll with it because my social anxiety is real.

NO FUTURE
I've always been a Mediahead - so the gushing firehose of the Interwebz - I love the access. Like right here ! Social Media is a completely new thing for Society tho of course. facebook felt like moving to a new town & standing nekkid in the Square. The ways it connects us powerfully & yet connects us *not @ all* is quite strange. Like participating in people's mental health crises in real time @ great distances. Medium of course is the Massage...
Saw Joe Jackson last night. Really brought us all back.
...BACK to NORMAL.
...& are still essentially no closer to a reasonable Health Care System. It doesn't give one hope for this Society.
The world doesn't fall down if you look after people's health, quite the contrary.
The USA?
Feel like I'm the Punk among Hippies - & the Hippie when amongst Punks... But I'm so many things besides. & not qualified as much of anything...
...by my definition. Not yours...
So when I hear it now I think of palm trees
