He was a great songwriter and the sound of the albums managed to be of its time while still containing echoes of all the old things he loved, i.e. rockabilly, country, 60s pop etc

My brother and I went to see him in Red Bank, NJ and it was wild. I've never seen female concertgoers act like that outside of newsreel footage of the Beatles.

	🥁 ♥ 4:16pm Funky16Corners: I read an oral history of MTV a while back (not a great book overall) but one of the most interesting parts was how the record companies reacted to the video boom, which was to invest insane amounts of money in rock videos, the vast majority of which are lost to the ages.

My brother and I went to see him in Red Bank, NJ and it was wild. I've never seen female concertgoers act like that outside of newsreel footage of the Beatles.
