	5:36pm still b/p: Visiting in a yard with friends last weekend in otherwise quiet neighborhood, we were treated to a BIG noisy extended and alarming raccoon showdown (or shag?) ruckus happening in a tree next to the street. Wild. Maybe they were screaming and ranting about mouths full of surprise hot stuff courtesy of some neighborhood loss-prevention officer/homeowner.
	5:37pm MOM WHIG: Woo - bad bad critters! One of my good friends here had trouble-issues with ground hogs last season. besides the fence - they buried the fence 2 ft under ground.--no more issues!
	♥ 5:37pm Chili MacPagoda: Woo: try a good layer of cayenne around the base of the tomato plants. Really pour it on, won’t affect the health of the plant and it really deters most critters. Don’t rub your eyes when you’re done!

Some anti-groundhog thoughts were tossed around regarding girlfriend's about-to-be garden, but she has much resistance to too-complicated defensive steps and constructions. Pepper, however, is now going regularly on the pansies the groundhog's been snacking on. DJ pre-show warmup: "Properly peppered pansies prevent portly picnickers."

	🥁 ♥ 5:54pm Woo: Kip, that last JA album was in 1989. I remember reading Grace just wanted to make enough money so she could retire. One reason that We Built This City exists.
	♥ 5:54pm Discotech Underground: BPN-I don't know...there is such a thing as being past your prime and having it show up in your performance, but I have seen 73 year old Alice Cooper do shows that are still spot on. I think it varies by individual abilities.

	5:59pm still b/p: Very enjoyable show, but I'm not getting my packing done here to prep for road trip to family gathering for college graduating nephew. Saw Alice when he was barely 30 and it wasn't spot-on -- not because of energy fail but because the big chicken outfits and gangster outfits and shtick shtick production-number shlock-shtick was too MUUUUCH. Folderol fail.
	5:59pm bigplanetnoise: Kip - very few exceptions. I’ll give kudos to Paul and Mick & Co. There aren’t many others.
	♥ 5:59pm Discotech Underground: Some older rock stars do need to give it up. I doubt we will see Ozzy Osbourne back on a stage again. He just has too many health problems. Those don't go away like they do when you are younger. Thankfully I have seen him like 25 times, but still, sad to see him go away like that.

	6:01pm bigplanetnoise: I do think that some of these folks get their deserved desserts on a QUALITY oldies package tour. The Happy Together tour, Andrew’s Monkees tours, the Brian Wilson shows, etc. All good, I say.

	6:06pm bigplanetnoise: We were involved in many reunion shows over the years. Sometimes it was beyond great - ie: The Gants, The Trashmen, Zombies, etc. But I have a LONGER list of when they went all wrong!!!

	♥ 6:08pm Chili MacPagoda: Before he departed the material world, I saw an 80yr old Andre Williams put on a show that set fire to the roof. If you still have the spark, go for it! But it’s gotta be real.

	♥ 6:09pm Discotech Underground: I watched the Tony Bennett show with Lady Gaga, and for someone with advanced mental decline, he still nailed the songs he sang with her.

	6:10pm still b/p: I remember a published gripe from late 80s-early 90s with the legacy acts from the 60s criticized for carrying on -- Stones, Beach Boys, etc. -- when they should stop dominating the attention and markets and make way for up and comers. I thought...ain't gonna happen, and no one's obligated to stop doing what they're good at and (we hope) they enjoy, what's wanted and successful. Some surely need to put on wisdom-discretion-reality glasses though. Friend of mine going later this year on one of those old-rock/pop-acts cruises that was pandemic-postponed.

	🥁 ♥ 6:27pm Woo: looking at concerts at Wrigley Field this summer. The Lumineers are playing. I don't know them and I'm not interested but good for them.
	♥ 6:29pm Discotech Underground: Woo-That's kind of my thing...I don't like any new bands enough to go see them play. I did forget one older rocker that still does dynamite shows...Todd Rundgren.

	6:33pm MOM WHIG: Woo - I'm with you on that . I just like to remember the ones I've seen and how fantastic they were back in the day.
	♥ 6:34pm Discotech Underground: Woo-See, I am the opposite...I love concerts, but the problem is the bands I would go see are either super expensive or not touring that much. Dweezil Zappa used to come around here about twice a year but after Covid scotched the rest of his last tour, he has not shown any indication he is planning on hitting the road again. He had some shoulder issues that did impact his playing so perhaps that has something to do with it.

	6:38pm WLSClark: Kip, I love Todd, but wonder about seeing live, as he does a million songs I love, but a lot I dont care for too.
	♥ 6:40pm Discotech Underground: I have seen in twice in recent years. The first time, I recognized like three songs the entire set and two were in the encore. The second was a Utopia reunion where they did several songs from the first two LP's and nailed it! The second half was more the power pop years, which was less exciting, but he hasn't slowed down in his vocal and guitar abilities at all.
	♥ 6:41pm Discotech Underground: Robin Trower still nails it on guitar, the only problem is his set list hasn't changed in like 15 years!
	6:41pm still b/p: Also from the senior roster: Friend recently went eagerly to see Skunk Baxter locally and found the band mix and volume in the small space wrong and an oppressively loud mess. He and a companion retreated out in disappointment after several songs. Same guy just saw Livingston Taylor and was satisfied and encouraged by talent and show mode.
	🥁 ♥ 6:41pm Woo: Last show I saw was Dave Alvin in a club show in early 2020. I was proud of myself for staying up after midnight and standing the entire time.
	♥ 6:43pm Discotech Underground: I have not heard good things about the farewell Kiss shows. Paul's voice is toast, basically, and Gene looks kind of silly being 73 years old and still doing snakey tongue. Ace Frehley's solo band, however, kicks major ass!

	♥ 6:48pm Discotech Underground: still b/p-My parents would never let me go to a Kiss concert back in the day (they let me see Zappa, though...) so when the four original guys got back together with the makeup and the big stage, I bought a ticket and finally went, and it was very nice to finally experience it once and for all. When they dressed up two other guys in Peter and Ace's costumes, I was outta there.

Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

Wild. Maybe they were screaming and ranting about mouths full of surprise hot stuff courtesy of some neighborhood loss-prevention officer/homeowner.

I thought...ain't gonna happen, and no one's obligated to stop doing what they're good at and (we hope) they enjoy, what's wanted and successful. Some surely need to put on wisdom-discretion-reality glasses though. Friend of mine going later this year on one of those old-rock/pop-acts cruises that was pandemic-postponed.

Dweezil Zappa used to come around here about twice a year but after Covid scotched the rest of his last tour, he has not shown any indication he is planning on hitting the road again. He had some shoulder issues that did impact his playing so perhaps that has something to do with it.

The second was a Utopia reunion where they did several songs from the first two LP's and nailed it! The second half was more the power pop years, which was less exciting, but he hasn't slowed down in his vocal and guitar abilities at all.

	6:41pm still b/p: Also from the senior roster: Friend recently went eagerly to see Skunk Baxter locally and found the band mix and volume in the small space wrong and an oppressively loud mess. He and a companion retreated out in disappointment after several songs. Same guy just saw Livingston Taylor and was satisfied and encouraged by talent and show mode.
