Last Thursday I interviewed Anthony Moore (Slapp Happy) for a future episode of OoD. He was friends with Kevin Ayers and produced an Ayers solo album. I talked with Anthony Moore about Ayers, Pink Floyd (who he also worked with) and much more. Stay tuned!

Anthony Moore was also in Henry Cow for a brief spell

"Small speakers on an expensive stereo" was how my second wife characterized our marriage. Can anyone tells me what that even means? I know it's too late now, but still.

_Ike_:

One of those tracks was pretty weird even for WFMU.

I liked it a lot!
Avatar 8:48pm
Observations:

" pretty weird even for WFMU" lol

Mission accomplished!
Avatar 🥁 8:57pm
Listener Gregory:

Hmmm, what would be pretty weird for WFMU? A Mozart piano sonata? Set of Kenny G songs? Call-in show for celibacy support? I'm not sure.
Avatar 🥁 9:01pm
Listener Gregory:

Stravizauls seems to be a takeoff on Freedom Jazz Dance.
Avatar 🥁 9:05pm
Listener Gregory:

Emphasis on the Freedom.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:09pm
_Ike_:

@LG@8:57, maybe all three at the same time!

But I probably should have specified "pretty weird on an absolute scale *and* also even for WFMU."

Is this Danse the same as the one you played in the first set (which I didn't hear)? Also, I think you may have switched the album and cut titles.
Avatar 9:54pm
Observations:

Thanks for catching that Gregory - they were switched, and now fixed. They are actually 3 separate tracks, each titled the same, tracks A-1, 2 & 3 on the vinyl
Avatar 9:56pm
northguineahills:

doesn't al dabka mean something like, 'to the adhered'? (just based on the similarities of arab and hebrew).
Avatar 🥁 10:00pm
Listener Gregory:

@ngh, yes, you do the dance to get the adhered thing off you. If you do it right, it should fall right off.
Thanks for a very nice show, David! Sorry I missed the beginning. I keep forgetting the starting time.
Avatar 10:02pm
Observations:

northguineahills: - good question, this is about all I know "a Levantine folk dance mainly seen in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.[2] Dabke combines circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions. " en.wikipedia.org...
