Your host, David Mittleman, hunts down the most exotic, unusual and off-the-beaten-track music from around the world in a number of genres: Spiritual Jazz, Free Improvisation, Experimental Electronics, Ethnographic Oddities and World-Wide Psychedelic Funk. Best known for his membership in Sun Ra’s Arkestra, Abdullah played a vital part in the 1970s New York Loft Jazz scene. Abdullah discusses his time with Sun Ra, playing with Jazz legends like Sam Rivers and authoring his memoir, A Strange Celestial Road.
