They have definitely listened to Steve Reich, as they should have

This is cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
fred:

@doc: do you time your purchases to when you'll be back home of just add these to your overflowing wish list?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
doctorjazz in the Berkshires:

@Fred, it's mostly just random, spur of the moment, though I do often make more of reviews or things I hear on WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm
doctorjazz in the Berkshires:

*make note of reviews...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm
fred:

It's become an issue for me as I get a steep tax if I'm not home when it shows up. There's no rhyme or reason to it too: I got a big box of swag with no tax, but some literary magazines get held up for weeks and taxed over 100%. I guess Emerson and Bard are hostile states
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm
doctorjazz in the Berkshires:

Going to a record store, especially with used records, means flicking through hundreds on slabs of vinyl until you find something interesting/affordable. My finger flicking is very out of shape...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm

@doc: I'm sure you'll get back to it in no time

Gotta run, thanks David!

David, can you put a space or some none Japanese character after the track name 葵上曼陀羅 so that the favorite clicky star will display? TIA

Yes, David, you did and Rich in Washington beat me to clicky star it. LOL.

This is some prime deviance. I am proud to observe it.

Just read the comments re: Jamie Branch. That’s extremely sad. I just got exposed to her playing in something I listened to a week or so ago, and now she’s gone. It’s enough to make an old-timer like me feel guilty for being alive. Rest In Peace.

FYI. Discovered that the album I recently encountered Jamie Branch on is See You Out There by Dave Gisler (Intakt 378). David Murray is also featured. It seemed quite good to me.

@WR, my life is an open book! But my only statement to the press is, “No comment.”
A number of DJs have asked me to follow the same policy on their message boards, but my spirit is not yet broken!
  9:00pm
Listener Gregory:

Strange coincidence… Ouechemsa and Aanhanghuis are the names of my two gerbils. What’s going on here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm
coelacanth∅:

well, Ouechemsa's not common but pretty much everybody has had a gerbil named Aanhanghuis at one time or other
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm
coelacanth∅:

that, and Paul are the 2 most common gerbil names.
  9:05pm

Yeah, I should have known I was asking for trouble.

Oren Ambarchi for the win!
David, did you play the John Zorn version of Shuffle Boil last week??? Someone did. Don’t think I’ve heard this version.

Yep, not paying attention, already have that Khan Jamal recording in my bandcamp wish list. I see via discogs that she has several albums of her own.

Lightning here in Tucson is synchronizing nicely with the pearl divers ⚡️⛈🌩
  9:58pm

For all their efforts, these divers should get something more substantial than pearls, like a haddock or young octopus or something.
