Charles Mingus said jazz was a word invented to separate musicians from their money. Music for a Free World brings us together, drawing listeners to the healing power of smooth free jazz. Each week, surprise guests bring their own sides to spin and their instruments of choice to spontaneously jam.

Sounds like it would be really fun to catch Europe 72 Dead!

I went to the Vision Festival last night, great show, think 40 people were there (speaking of small audiences).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm
Dave Sewelson:

Yeah doc....by the last set it had emptied out
  2:43pm
Jair-Rohm:

The album actually starts with an interlude by Bob. Lovely album :-)
  2:44pm
Jair-Rohm:

@doctorjazz keep your eyes posted for the band Rainbow Full of Sound. We're touring mostly Europe 72 now.

Sounding good!

Yeah Tilted!

This conversation is just fascinating. The twists and turns from the Dead to Dolphy to Ayler to Embryo map out a vast, yet somehow closely connected world.

Cool NFT (though I don't quite get NFT's in general...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm

On these tracks, I can hear how Jair-Rohm could play the Phil Lesh part ihe the Dead Tribute. Fid you listen to them much before joining that band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
Dave Sewelson:

@doc...all i know is you can buy and sell invisible stuff
  3:38pm
Jair-Rohm:

@doctorjazz, I only saw The Dead once. They came to Stockholm on my birthday in 90 something.
  3:40pm
Dean:

If my understanding approaches accuracy (a big if), an NFT is simply an immutable record ("token," the T) on a blockchain. Unlike fungible tokens, which permit exchange like currency--your dollar bill is as good as mine--an NFT is unique. The image at the URL is not an NFT; rather, an NFT resides on the blockchain ledger that vouches for the image as property.

They did that with Hendrix material, was the Garcia material "remix" released?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm
doctorjazz:

David Murray (who also sat in with the Dead) did an album of Dead covers, very nice! But mostly it's not taken all that seriously (except by Dead Heads).

Dean:

Harvey S has been working in recent years with Alan Broadbent's trio.
  4:25pm
Dean:

Er, Harvie S.
  4:28pm
Jair-Rohm:

Harvey S is brilliant. I used to annoy him to no end whenever he would come to Munch with Double Image LOL. I was the kid with too many questions about the bass. He's such a great player.
  4:29pm
Jair-Rohm:

@doctorjazz, we're still compiling material for Jerry releases. We (JGMA) have other projects that we're working on taking Jerry's music into the Metaverse.
  4:30pm
Jair-Rohm:

@doctorjazz, Raggae was a big influence on that track.

This (Yellow Fields) is lovely! WHAT a BIG bass sound!

European jazz in general doesn't get much attention here (for that matter, American jazz is pretty neglected).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm

Eberhardt Weber is a name I know well, but the others Jair-Rohm, I have to say, aren't (and I pay attention to this kind of stuff).
