Yes. I managed to drop the spout from the gas can into the gas tank of the lawn tractor. What a mess. Spent an hour trying to fish and siphon it out and gave up. Not feeling very good about things.

Too narrow for tongs. Scissors drop it every time. Too shallow for a wire hook to do any good.

Ah ! Obvious solution ! ...Or - one of those jets that comes down & does the ZeroG thing...
Handy Haversack:
Brian, that was my first thought, but I couldn't even get the siphon going despite a couple of mouthfuls of petrol. It's maybe a little too big to turn over, too, esp. without crushing the exhaust covers.

- hope high poetry is not wrong for now but it is a favorite :
...' Peace, peace! he is not dead, he doth not sleep,
He hath awaken'd from the dream of life;
'Tis we, who lost in stormy visions, keep
With phantoms an unprofitable strife,
And in mad trance, strike with our spirit's knife
Invulnerable nothings. We decay
Like corpses in a charnel; fear and grief
Convulse us and consume us day by day,
And cold hopes swarm like worms within our living clay '...
