A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

There's a link a little ways down in this that will take you to the list of books banned just this year.
I'd just finished a book so this motivated me to start reading "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates (banned in Texas and Pennsylvania).

How fortunate to have been the student of such a scholar, karlward. Haven’t read the book yet, but the Reader is so excellent. Full of newspaper clippings, interviews, transcripts. About 450 pages in on this morning and just ahead are these essays I’m really looking forward to. Lots of things I hadn’t known, having even read The Dead Are Arising by Les Payne.
Hey comrades PRB, Handy!!
Thanks for the link, Woods.

You wouldn’t believe how many RW scaredy-cats have something to say when out wearing my red Che t-shirt, heh. Usually starts with a sneaky compliment, like, “hey, good shirt.” Thinking they’re genuine a clenched fists goes up reflexively, to which only then come the lies or misinterpretations.

Caught it about a month or so ago. Disappointing as hell but not shocking. Although we in the home had been pretty diligently following protocols of masking, social distancing and not attending indoor events I guess I’d occasionally gotten a bit lax.
Anyway, I quarantined in the apartment, eating meals by myself and only coming out masked to go to the bathroom or make myself something to eat.
The three others at home didn’t get it (we all tested).
Good luck to you guys, and a speedy recovery to your husband!

I feel worst that I likely gave it to my wife—before I knew I had it, as her case followed mine with a day's lag, and I'd been out in buses and a barber-shop (getting cleaned-up for a party we then couldn't attend). She's mostly got fatigue and stomach issues.

Thank-you for your sympathy. It is not misplaced, but we are conscious of being well-treated and generally treated well…except for the telehealth nurse who told me to cut-out an inhaled steroid I've been taking…. To chime in on an earlier question: you can still buy music through Apple's music app, though they no longer call it "iTunes." I still buy music there when I can't find what I want on bandcamp or direct from artists pages. I also sometimes still dig through record bins, though I do most of my music listening digitally these days.
I refuse to pay for any of the music streaming services. I give that money to WFMU instead!

Yes, essentially needing to make an appointment to play music. Add the care needed to play a vinyl disc, and the danger of ruining it, and it means inherently greater involvement.
It also means a greater cost to do it, roughly, and we tend to value things more, the more we've paid for them.
